drop a new crate LS3 in and link up a new tranny. Go new tech in old school. Sounds like it's going to be a good project! keep us up to date on details of whatever you do.

I'm thinking now on getting either a '78 or '79 both in good condition (still for a project car with my dad though). '78 is $8500 and '79 is $6000 but the '79 is a couple hours away. Both have stock L82 engine, both look good but interior could be redone. What do you think?

The sky is the limit. All depends on what you want to do and how deep your pockets are.. An LS1 will go in w/some work.

Check out this site and go to projects then frankensport.. Another C3 Vette. Very cool..

C3 Corvettes in need of a rebuild are serious MONEY PITS when it comes to the total dollars spent.

The '76 is the lowest horsepower year ever made (160hp net )

Even if it was pristine and numbers matching... it would still have the value of a turd.

Just know that any money spent is money you wont get back. (On a '76 project)

I'd pass on an missing motor "project" '76... Even if the car was free.

Most cars built are a labor of love. If we all worried how much we spent on these money pits we would ALL leave them stock!!
