my 02z vs. 600rwhp whipple cobra...?
hey guys just wonderin who u think will win this thing from a dig...my o2 z mods in sig + i will be runnin a 100 wet shot or a 600rwhp whippled cobra...apparently this kid who drives it loses traction from a dig but stays in it so im pretty sure i will tear him a new one off the line i guess the real question is will i stay ahead of him till about 140? supposedly this cobra pulls ungodly hard in 3rd but then again so do i....

you should be faster than him given the 440rwhp plus a 100 shot against 600 and the extra 600 pounds he has... it will be close though... may want to step up to a 150 shot if you can.

Both cars should easily trap130+ so the 1/4 mile would be a good safe place to race this guy and gets some good feedback about the power from each car and whether or not driver made a big influence by analyzing the data.

With the hundered shot you'll walk away. When my car was heads and cam it made 480rwhp and my boss had a KB cobra that made 613rwhp and it was a very close race from a roll. His car is a convertible so it's a little heavier, but with over 500rwhp you'll be fine.

Now... go to SVT performance and everyone there will tell you that you're going to lose. LOL I say its going to be a very close race. If he gets good traction than you can kiss the win goodbye. If he wheel hops it off te line... then you will have it. Having owned both a KB Cobra and currently a Vette... I would say that if he doesnt show up on slicks... then he desnt have a chance. For what its worth though... I really, REALLY miss the 650 rwhp KB Cobra!

Hell, I'm a Corvette guy and I'm going to say that you'll be seeing tail lights. He's got a BIG tq advantage down low over you with that twin screw, not to mention 160+ RWHP over you off the bottle. Anything can happen, but if the both of you hook up and it's a good clean race, you're going down.

Well keep in mind that the Cobra does weight in about 700+ lbs (with driver included) more than the Vette. Thats his only real advantage. When my Vette was totally stock (99 FRC), I ran with my buddy in his totally stock '04 Cobra and I beat him by about 2 car lengths. He probably laid down close to 75 rwhp than I at the time. I still think if he shows up on slicks and he is a good driver then you will see tail lights... but anything could be factored in.

The weight is what makes the most difference and the drivers skill.... Heat those tires though and let some air out.... You will get him! Make sure you record it, I want to see it!!!

How's this: My 500 RWHP Vette vs. my buddies 615 RWHP Blown '95 383 Z28?? I'm a good driver, but it was absolute destruction. The Z isn't as heavy as a Cobra obviously, but again, he had a huge tq advantage down low, and that got his portly self moving quicker than the lighter vette.
I'm holding out. You're going to see tail lights.

I would say its the z0 for sure. The cobra has around 60rwhp more then the vette on the bottle I would guess. It also weighs a good 600lb. more then the vette... This makes it a close race, but I still give the advantage to the lighter car and the one that is easier to launch/ keep traction. Oh and not to mention that z06's LOVE the bottle. Lets see some vids though I know I have dominated 2 different bolt on cobras from a roll. I was down at least 70rwhp on both I would guess

Z06 for sure. Torque is down low for the cobra, too bad the whole race except for the start will be above where he makes the most torque. Rememeber too much torque and not enough tire=wheel spin!!! Get a good launch and never look back. Top end the cobra is fast, tons of hp. Then again a 440rwhp+100shot will get you at least 550rwhp and tons of torque too. You should be mid 500's on torque also. That coupled with the mn12 trans and a 3100 pound car will beat a 600rwhp 3800 pound mustang with **** gearing and a light *** rear end to boot. If he is on slicks then you better get a good launch, otherwise he is going to spin like a bitch if he really hammers it down.

The torque on my KB Cobra kicked in at about 2000 rpms and the line was flat across to 6500 rpms. Im saying that is he shows on slicks... dont bet a penny on you winning.

NA, it will be close, spray and walk him down. From my experiance, 150rwhp advantage (for the cobra) is a tight race with a corba. I have run more then a few at the track and have got the "That's all?" about my little NA HC car. I even had one guy show me his 600 rwhp graph! Not hating and if I hit the lotto I would have a new shelby, a new viper, a new C6Z... BLUFF good luck man!
