Everyone really just uses the CCWs. Some people have tried some other ones, but the CCWs have the best support.

The CCW package will bolt on with minor clearancing to the rear upper control arm ball joints. The front skinnies fit perfect with no modification.

Others : Rears
- There are a few Centerline and Weld 16x9.5 that will fit the rears, but require more clearancing to the ball joint and calipers.
- Bogart D-10 16x9.5 will also fit with minor clearancing to ball joint.
- C5 16x9.5 will fit with minor clearancing to ball joint and calipers.
- 98-02 Fbody 16x8 will fit with minor clearancing to ball joint. These can also be widened to 16x9.5, will not work with the ZO6 rear brake ducts.

Others : Fronts
- Bogart D-10 15x5. These require you to replace the front calipers and rotors with rear ones. IMO this is a bad choice since the C5 uses the fronts mostly to stop with.
- GTO 17x5 spare tire rim. I forget the tire that is used with these. Another bad coice IMO. Since the rim is made for spare tire use, I would not trust it with my life at 120+ MPH.
- Narrowed 16x8 fbody rims to 16x5. These require a 1" spacer and make the wheel/tire stick out of the fender almost a whole 1". Yuck.

I have tried many of these non CCW solutions and all of them never really worked right. I have most likely spent two to three times the cost of a CCW set looking for a cheaper alternative to the CCW package. Do youself a favor and get the CCW package and do it right the first time.

well this is going on my fbody with C5 brakes, therefore the question, the rears are easy, but the fronts become a problem lol.

thanks for the help!

I use the GTO spares. M and H makes front runners (DOT) that fit perfect. You can get the rims for about 50 and the tires are 141 each.

I bought a used set of CCWs. They are the best looking drag wheels for C5s out there in my opinion. They're not really that expensive, either.

Obi-1,
my GTO rims wouldn't seat against the rotors on my c5-z...they just don't quite fit. Got to the track and tried to mount and they almost didn't come off ?? Are you driving a c-5 ? Pit-man

Default gto rims

Lets do...it was like I was pressing them on as I was tightening the lugs ,then we noticed they were off the rotors about 1/8 inch when tight. Ruined my night except for the 1.55 sixty foot

(I pm'd you back, too)

Mine are on a 2000 FRC. I forgot, the center of each wheel was a little bit too small. Had to use a drum sander for about 15 minutes on each wheel to clear the hub.

Rick, do you have a drum sander ? All I have is a belt sander and a carbide cone for metal shaving that goes in a drill. Bob

I like my rims and was inexpensive but it was the result of putting rear brakes on the front. Some people are against the rear rotors being up front and I fully understand. However some more hard core people go with strange or moser nonvented brakes to slow the car down. I personally slow down from 126-127mph at the track with the rears in the front with no problems. However this doesnt really help in the case that you have the C5 front brake pads and rotors on your T/A. Nice looking vehicle.

Pittman get your junk working and crack a 10 will ya

I can't get enough of showing pics of my car LOL!

How wide are those. I think those would be a much better choice than the GTO spares.

those weld wheels are awesome.
the GTO spares worked fine have many street miles on them. I had (obi-1) wheels powedercoated so the centers did not fit but learned that from prior experience. It wasn't much but didnt' take any time at all to make them fit.
