Hey Guys,

I just bought my first corvette, Its a O1 Z06. I would just like to know what are the most common problems seen with these cars? Are they pretty durable? If some one can provide me with some feed back on their experiences with these car it would be great. Thanks.

I drive mine hard.... really hard. They were designed to take track abuse... (shot peened ring + pinion, better clutch, etc)

Strong machine, daily driven with no problems in 50k miles...

Thay come with 3.42 gears but the clutches in the rear are set diffrent for performance. You will notice on the tag that they say 3.42 sp and the standard vettes just say 3.42. Down fall in the 01 are the piston rings under heavy driving you will notice oil going low about every 1500 miles. Really nothing to worry about just make sure you check your oil regurly.

Some of them did yes. That's the piston ring issue talked about earlier in this thread.

It's good to take a look at the history and see if it has been re-ringed.

My 01 has never burned oil.....

I really haven't had ANY problems to speak of since I got the car. I busted a timing chain once, but that was the previous owners fault for not changing it when he installed an aftermarket cam....that caused me to get new heads, but I'm still on the same shortblock.
