Default head and cam packages

anyone recommend a good h/c package. i know SLP sells one, but after a h/c package or a h/c swap, a tune would be needed, also a converter to work along with it.

and any other supporting mods that wouldnt be a bad idea to put in while the cars apart

i know its kinda vauge, but the car will be seeing street and strip duty, mostly street though. so if that helps at all i'de appreciate the help

lol slp?!?! i would go with trickflow 215cc heads and ms4 by texas speed with some good headers(lg, or kooks) and pulley with fast 90 90 ported and good intake like vararam u will be lookin at more than 500rwhp...thats alot of money though

Let me recommend one of CARTEK's PROVEN 2X, 3X or 4X packages.

They port the heads themselves in house & use a specific cam custom speced for the application.

Based on your wants, they KNOW what package to use.

I have their 4X package & my car runs terriffic..
Runs 10.90-11.10, consistent, and drives, idles perfectly..

I recently had an LS2 block installed, but re-used the 4X H/C, and 1st time out my car ran low 10.7's...

The thing I like is these H/C packages are PROVEN.
CARTEK KNOWS what works.
No experimenting, no guessing with cams, etc.
The R & D has already been done..!

My reccomendation is to get one of their packages for sure..

guys i really appreciate your help with all of the questions that i have, im new to LS1 stuff. i've mainly done stuff with imports and stuff like that. but i always like to learn more and expand my knowledge to new stuff, like the LS series engines and into the ford engines as well.

now when a h/c swap is done is it a good thing to put a bigger injector in at the same time, or will the stock injector be enough for the increased airflow.

i know it'll need a tune so it'll be able to use the increase in airflow.

i would definitly go with bigger injectors i went with 36lb/hr with my cam only app i would imagine with better heads especially if it were a stock c5 u would be runnin lean

stock pump and FPR be ok for a while? or would it need to be swapped out when putting injectors in as a safety precaution

Since you said mostly street, I'd suggest my converter for your car. Very tight with 3.42 gears (2.5 str) and actually stalls to 3200 rpm. Will let you use just about any cam you want, will perform well at the track, but still very tight. Anything that stalls higher than 3200rpm, you would want to find someone's car to test drive and see if you can tolerate it. Lots of guys say the 3600 is fine, I drove a car with one and 3.90 gears and it was still too loose for me, but I am picky.

Cartek is a good place. YO-EL has one of the fastest head/cam 346cid cars on this board and corvetteforum. Cartek's results always speak for themselves.
