Default Need some input...

Well, to start off I am definatly confuse as to wich car I will buy next. For the past few years I was looking into a vette. When it was time to buy, I picked up an STi since I couldn't afford the vette insurance on top of the car itself.

Since then things have changed drastically. I make 30k more per year and now want a toy. So, since then I've picked up a new 07 STi and a 06 Forester for my wife. Now that those will be paid off this year, I was thinking vette again. BUT..... for the price of a new vette, there are so many other cars for the 55k-80k price range. So what do I do??

I need veet and f-bod owner to chime in!!

Get a Z06 and be done with it. I just got the LS3 Corvette and it is a major step forward from my 2000 Camaro SS (and I LOVE that car too!). If you want a MONSTER out of the box, get the Z06. If you plan to mod, get the LS3 Vette. It's incredible!

That's a whole nother debate. Do I mod or not? This means I could always buy a used vette and mod to hell and back, OR buy the Z06. I'm so undecided at this point......it's a good thing I have a bit before I choose!!

I think if I had to do it all over again I would buy a new Z06 and leave it the hell alone.....for awhile

If I where to do it all over again. I would do this.

1) Get a 08 C6. It is LS3 based and can get 450+ rwhp with a few bolts on and a tune. Leave it alone from there.
2) For racing, pick up a nice R.E.D. Sink the money into it.

I could have a easy 7 to 8 second RED and a nice DD for what I have sunk into my C5 at this point......

Well, my STi will end up being my DD. I just don't know what car to get as far as a "toy" goes. There's so may options. Do I buy used and mod, or buy new and leave it alone?

Like I told you yesterday, get a Z51 and throw on a supercharger. Done. Much better bang for the buck vs. a new Z06 in my eyes. If you decide to do some auto-x you can put a few $$ into the suspension and tires and you'll love it. Besides, I know that you wouldn't be able to not mod a new Z06!

Yeah. Mods are inevitable(sp) in my case. I'd basically like something for the street or track racing(it'll only come out on weekends). I like the 1/4 but want something more. I obvioulsy like the way the STi handels and want something similar to that kind of handling with more power.
