The bottom is the fastest way. You will have a tougher time getting the inputshaft lined up from the top.
Pros from the top:
- no removal of Kframe
- no lift needed
Cons
- tough alignment
- 3 man job
-ABS gets in the way
out the bottom Pros-
-Fast
- easy stabbing the input shaft
- no hood removal
Cons-
-lift needed
-dolly for Kframe ( we have a special dolly for this sole purpose)
Hope that helps!

out the top seems OK, but would require removing the radiator, hoods, and maybe the nose and steering rack (maybe). I always drop everything out of the bottom.
