How big is my cam!?

How big is my cam!? I would like to know just how big the cam is in my car. I bought the car from a guy on the Corvetteforum. The cam is 251/257 .600/.600 114 LSA. Im told by some people that the cam is not that big since it is in a 413 ci stroker. But then im told that it is a really big cam by other people. The tuner working on my car said it is to big to tune right (I think that is a load of S***) but i could be wrong. Please help me out here. And thanks for the help.

You can tune anything, it's a matter of air/fuel ratio and timing.... simple.
Honestly, your car is making low horsepower numbers and I'd bet that cam has something to do with it.... I'd bet that you'd make better numbers and enjoy the car much more iwth a smaller stick.

I agree with you Joshua on that. The numbers it made were with two bad plug wires and 2 bad O2s and the intake was not sealed on the heads. So I know there is more in the car as it sits. Plus i know the tune will be easier to do now with all the problems fixed. But when i get up some money Im going with the L92 heads and intake and a smaller cam.

If this car is a DD I would tell you to go with a different cam. The cam is not "to big" but it is a little larger than I would put in a dd. Call Tsp or comp and tell them your CI,heads, intake and get them to recommend the best cam for a daily driver with those specs and your goals in mind. Even though that cam is on a 114 it is still more difficult to tune than a smaller bump stick, if you go with a smaller cam with more power under the curve you will be much more happy. Big cams are not every thing, they peak up top and you have to constantly stay in the high rpms to make power. If you get a larger medium cam you will make power through out the range and pull like crazy. So thats my take.

That is huge. Even for a 454, it is very big. On a 416 it will lope like a SOB. Also with that much lift and duration, you will need some big valve reliefs in the pistons.
