c5 z06 owners.......u guys ever see a Z06 that came with 1 rear trunk lift support?

c5 z06 owners.......u guys ever see a Z06 that came with 1 rear trunk lift support? weirdest thing, the other day i am using a bit of meguiars quick detailer on my vette and while the trunk was open i noticed there was only 1 lift support! (the strut that holds the trunk open) so no big deal i call the dealer to order 2 brand new ones up and after giving them my vin they said that there is only 1 rear trunk lid support on the driver side!! i was like WTF?!?! i mean it looks like there was a spot where one "could" be but you can tell that there was never one there ever! so IDK i was just curious as to how many guys have seen this on thier Z06 and FRC corvettes?

ya and the weirdest thing about it is that there is a different part number for cars that got a single support and a different number for those that got 2!! i couldnt imagine why GM would do this, i initially thought someone was in there messing around with something but when the guy at the local GM parts department asked if i had 1 or 2 lift supports i was blown away! So idk i guess it stays with one even though i am sure GM wanted to put 2??? lol im not sure what to think! common sense says put 2 in there and GM says no there is only 1! i too have seen a number of Z06s and never ran accross this

so i just got back from west herr auto group, i had to see in person what the parts department was seeing on thier computers, and indeed some cars got only 1 lift support (according to GM) but i have yet to ever see one in person other than the one in my garage, so i went ahead and ordered up "2" lift supports direct from GM anyway.........its weird u can see where an additional support goes on the passanger side but the paint isnt even marked like there was ever one there!! So ya thats all i can do lol thanks fr the pics and feedback and if anyone ever sees or gets thier hands on a C5 Z06 with one lift support dont panic it is the case that some cars came this way.....haha i just dont want to be the odd ball
