My friend has a local chevy dealership in illinois do a set of heads/cam for him. With stock headers/cats it dyno'd 374rwhp. Is this about right or way off? I think it should be at 400rwhp even with stock cats and headers. The dealership said the heads were done by some place in california called General Kinetics. Anyone heard of them? i don't even think they did the heads. They charged him $5100 for heads/cam/computer, that doesn't include labor because it was under warranty. Let me know what you guys think.

Yep, price doesn't seem right nor does the power. You can usually get over 400rwhp with a cam and headers only thru stock heads and all of the parts and installation would be less than 4k. If you shop hard you should be able to find heads and cam for around 4k installed although that would be considered a good deal. 374rwhp just sounds a little bit weak. A properly tuned ZO6 with Heads/cam/headers should be at 440rwhp++.

I would have to agree. Also General Kinetics is a cam and spring mfg. Not a big one, but they are a mfg. I was not aware of them doing head work, but I guess you could call them. Also the delaership most likely marked everyhting up quite a bit. Also, how did they tune the car. Unless they have Ls1edit, there is nothing they could do. As for the numbers, they are way low. My 2002 makes 372 with the lid off the stock airbox and nothing else done. H/C with headers should be well over 400
