New frc/targa/convertible hitting the roads!
First off, I just want to say Gary B. (Corvette forum) Set the mood for this conversion. The very first time I saw his car I wanted this mod. I probably spent too much money and time on this, but damn it is worth having the one and only frc/targa/vert corvette in OKLAHOMA that is just like mine. Which makes modding all the worth while. Now I know alot of people will say something about the storage hassles, I did this with the intentions of having the roof on, more than off.
And before my pictures I want to warn that my car is a badged clone. Sadly she is no z, but in all seriousness I have just been too lazy to remove them lol. (yes I know my centers are missing too, I got new ones today as well as clear corners!)
Anyhow enough listening more Looking!
ill get some fresher pictures tomorrow~

Looks creat... I looked in to making my Z06 in to a Targa top.... Its like 6k for the kit and another 2-3k for shipping to the place that does it... Somewhere in Canada, and it takes 5-6 weeks.
-- My girlfriend agreed to pay 5k of the cost. ( She just got an insurance settlement ) but I had to pay the rest and it just was not worth the down time...
an no she did not agree to just paying for a supercharger... Targa top or nothing... some BS if you asked me

you have to remove the whole thing sadly. I will eventually figure out how to make it retractable. And as far as I know it saves weight if you remove the soft top out of the car, like I am.

agreed, but oh the laziness! actually I was going to trade this on a real z06 but I have put so much time and effort intothis car is not really worth it. I will have a mn12 and 4.11 gears by next summer to go with the afr heads and custom cam to complement the ported intake/throttle, with the full exhaust. Oh and lets not forget the all so mighty cold air intake!

Yeah there's no point upgrading to a Z06. You've got the body and as you said you're about to have the mn12 plus a head/cam package that will far surpass a Z06's power level anyways. I don't think I'd like 4.11's with the mn12...the first 3 gears are already pretty short!

All corvettes are made convertibles first. That way the body contains the same structural rigidness in all models. If your question is if I made the bond well enough to hold against pressure then the answer is yes. It was a very strong bond. I have had the Vette to 120 without the roof on and everything stayed solid. I have no worries.
Josh, I will probably keep the gearing when I switch over to the mn12, the only thing I will do is swap the clutch for a stiffer one, but I don't know much about manual tranny's but I will learn.

Saw that at the end of Jan. you responded to a wanted ad that you had a nbm ram air hood for sale? You still have it? If you do, respond to this ASAP. I didn't see an email or anyway to get a hold of you.
