Default C6 Ls2

I wanted to see if you guys could give me some info on how strong these cars are. I had a guy and his wife talk a bunch of smack to me and I diden't want to have to eat my words so I dident say much. It's an M6 and both drivers are terrible and I'd like to know if I had a chance. I did a search but any threads were about the ones with a LS2

They can be quite quick/fast, the two quickest stock C6 LS2s (one an automatic (my car actually) and the other a manual) both ran 12.2s at over 115mph.
But your car is potentially fast too, if you can drive you can definitely hang with/beat them.
Drag radials and a little weight reduction would certainly help your cause.

The ones I've seen at the track are going highish 12s at around 113ish. You've got your hands full for sure, unless your car is abnormally strong, or he simply doesn't have the slightest clue how to drive. I've messed with a couple on the street, they get up and go pretty well.

Thanks for the replies. The ls2's are a little stronger than I thought. I still might try it though, driver mod is non existant on their side. I have a plate kit in the mail so I guess I could just wait for that to come in. Thanks guys

the fastest I have been in my c6 is 12.83 and I suck at driving. I run consistent high 12.90 -13.0 on the stock run flats and its an m6.

Just tree them. If they are as bad at driving as you say they are, it won't be hard.

I agree with everyone else. The LS2/mn6 vettes are usually good for mid-high twelves if basically stock. But the driver mod can make or break any car.

You have a lot of bolt-ons and should have a 12.3 - 12.7 car depending upon your skill. With some drag radials or decent street tires you should be able to win.

The LS2 is fast, but its the new 2008 LS3 that you have to watch out for! It has 35 more HP and is WAAY faster!

And.....GAME ON!!!

Its much easier to have an 05-06 LS2 with TFS heads than an 08 LS3 though.

I think you should just race him, dont talk BS and say lets see what you have. Many people would be suprised on the street what driving skill can do on the street especially. I do agree LS2's are a strong motor but i've seen guys run 14's on new Z06's for pete sakes. Driver mod makes a big difference. Though I will say I think I come across as a squirely tard and would think I was a NDF (Non driving Fu**) but then you'd be a taillight kisser. Just race, be safe and have fun!!!!!!
