No offense taken whatsoever, J. Like it or not, you have $5 on the way and times aren't that tough on me anyway. My fiance' and I (getting married this Saturday!) have been ballin' on a budget while she was in grad school and now she's out making 3x my income. We are still frugal and are sitting on a nice cushion of savings. So anyway, it was my decision and I felt good about it. When you are gearing up for a long day of wrenching, stop by Micky D's and get yourself a tasty sausage, egg, and cheese McGriddle on me.

So lets look ahead for a moment, shall we? Say that your car is finished completely, you have your tune dialed in, the Chaos-Trooper is caged, etc. You achieve infamy on Youtube, Streetfire, and many enthusiast message boards... What's next? You said something along the lines of wanting to race professionally at one point. Sure turning wrenches for Cadillac pays the bills and has it's perks but we all know that's not where you want to be.

I have every confidence in your abilities but is this something you need to network for? Do you want to race on the tree or ALMS type road circuit racing, etc.? What I'm trying to say is that killing exotics is **** tons of fun and you will grow an even more infamous reputation on the street (and we all love that) but if you want to be for real, you need to find a way into a sponsorship and get involved in amateur/semi-pro racing on some level. I have no idea what it takes to get there but I wanted to see if you have given it this much thought.

Talking out of my *** here as I have zero experience or knowledge in the matter but maybe if you can sit down with some of your well to do clients, friends, etc. and pitch a campaign. Find a competitive series that would showcase your talents and get some private sponsorship with these guys/gals and build a purpose built racecar for that series. Maybe you could build the Chaos-Trooper to qualify? If you do well you could take off from there with corporate sponsors or sign on with a team, etc. The sky is the limit! Johnny O has to retire at some point, right?

Later, dawg.

First off, congratulations to you and your girl man,....thats awesome. Not quite sure,...if i'll ever be able to trust someone enough, to ask them to spend the rest of there life with me,...ya know what I mean? Been through soo many werid relationship senerio's,...I don't know whats what anymore. But, thats a whole other thread.

Thank you for the 5 man,...i'll spend it well!!!

Lol,..i like your questions. Thank you for having some confidence in my driving. It's one of those things, that I just know I could do, and honestly feel, that I am missing out on the whole opertunity to do something great in the racing world. I know that, thousands of people THINK the very same thing, and thats fine but, i honestly feel I could do it. Better yet, I truly believe that I could.

That said, I would love to be more involved in anytype of road events. I Do plan on making some track appearence's in the albino bat mobile asap but,..like anything, it requires money to do that. So, we'll see about my personal car, and some seat time hopefully within the next year.

If I had my choice, I would go to the ALMS, or in a similar series. I like the whole negotiating traffic type of racing. Nothing cooler thne those LMP cars dicing throw a group of slower cars, with a rival in hot pursuit. Gets the blood pumpin, i'd imagine. I would do any form of racing though to be honest. GT cars, whatever. ****, i'd race a front wheel drive car if it was what was given to me to drive. Although not my choice by a long shot. Hell, i'd hate the hell out of it but, i'd even go to nascar(not even for the money, just to race, as a proffesional).

Soo,...I dunno man. I have friends that are SUPER competitive in more grass roots style racing. They're usually points leaders, and have offered me to go and help out when they go but,...I don't wanna be a "pitman"... I wanna drive. I have no problem changing tires brakes, whatever need to be done to help out a friend but,..again, I wanna have the experience that THEY are having. To do that, I owuld , like you said, need a full out race car. At the moment, my car is still a street car, and thats the plan, to keep it a hardcore street car. But, again, I ahve no problem beating on it in that type of enviornment.

Also,...I hate to think this but,....I have even considered selling my vette,....which I would honestly rather slit my wrists then sell but, I have thought of selling it,....so I could actually go get a license(racing).....and try and get in SOMEWHERE....anywhere. So, that is a thought lurking in my mind. I don't wanna turn wrenches my whole life,...and in the current times, I don't think it'll support a racing career. Possible, yes but, at the moment, I dunno.

Someday,...I hope i'll be in an actual car. The tough thing is, trying to convince someone to let me drive there car, and show them that I am capable. Thats the tough part. Like the saying goes, it's not what you know,...it's who you know. I'd honestly leave right now and pack up my bags if I had a place to go to, and a job/future.....and i'd have to be able to take my car.

So,..my life story is incomplete at the moment my friend. Sorry for the rambling,...I am not sure what this post reads like but...incase it looks like ****, I've had three phone calls in the middle of typing this soo,..my brain is a little scattered.

Thanks again for the cash bro,..I appreciate that.

ALSo.

I , with the help of pastvertical, I got my cooling system to purge today(used is big lips to suck that **** out)*(lmao, just kiddin, he has a dope as tool for such things). I drove the car for about 10 mintues today. Felt great but, it was breaking up pretty badly. My guess is spark plug wires might be a tad close to the headers. I did some data logging with my predator soo, i'll replay that later or tomorrow. I did have some oily smoke, emmiting from the driver side turbo(out of downpipe)...soo, we'll see what happens with that and a few actual miles. The header wrap, smokes like a chimny. Soo, hopefully after some heat cycles, that'll stop.

Other then that, gotta fix the gages, cut some holes in my hood(for heat extracting)(still looking for more options),....fix my misfire issue,...and get her to the dyno.

It does, sound pretty wild when the turbo's slightly start spooling. It'll be chaotic no doubt.

Peace

Get a life man.
It must kill you to see people showing V-Series some respect here, something you're surely not used to.
If you notice, he has not asked anyone for one red cent, it was another member who brought the idea up, and did so because there are alot of people here who appreciate V-Series Techs input and presence on LS1tech, unlike the many trolls who spend their time on here making useless posts, much like yourself.

Thanks guys. I actually haven't man, haven't had time to mess with it. I really should cause, it'd save me time from guessing at whats going on. I'll try and see if I can do it at work tomorrow. If it allows it, i'll do it. If not, i'll just do it at home and not have issues.

On another note,...I took the car home today, for the first time in months. Drives good, other then breaking up under some load. It is ignition related. Either a plug, or coil issue. I'll have that solved on saturday I believe. As tomorrow I am gonna go and see linkin park @ project reveloution!!! Can't wait. Ceaser is gonna drive his truck, my girl and I are gonna hop in with him. Should be a nice break. Saturday morning, right back at it.

Lol, I have tennis ***** in the NACA ducts right now, to keep out any rain. lol. Neighbors are probably like wtf?

Anywho,...can't wait to go WOT. It's gonna be loud no doubt. Probably gonna look into finishing my exhaust, and add some tail pipes, ...with POSSIBLY some bullet mufflers. It's not anywhere near overly loud now though.

We'll see.

Pictures I hope to have up asap. I'd have them already but my stooooopid camera phone dumpd out on me soo,...no pic'y. Car really needs to be clay bar'd and waxed to be honest. Looks like a shop car at the moment. Although somewhat clean,..not super shiny.

The naca ducts really set it off though.

Oh, and my gages, traced that back to a bad module(nexus control module).

Good news is the guys at autometer are taking care of me(cool dudes on the tech line),...and i'll have a new module(or mine rebuilt) soon enough. Gonna probably hook up my pyro meter as well, since i already have it.

Hey if you moved your coils (relocated them) using an extension harness, I read somewhere that there were a few bad harnesses out there (mis-wired) that was causing the problem you're talking about.

Glad to hear you getting closer J !! The ducts for the turbos to suck in cold air look great. Very impressed, just waiting for some numbers and boost levels. Keep up the good work bro, and I wish you 100% success on this project. You are nearly there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd say your project is like one of my drives back from Texas. Your stage is like when I am crossing into Michigan, almost home baby !! Can't wait........

True true. I made my own coil extension wire but, no reason that it isn't possible that I some how made a mistake. I have about 10 counts current on cylinder #5, under load. At idle, nothing misses. Just under any real throttle input great then, I dunno, 35-40%. I could slooooooowly lay into the throttle, and it's pretty smooth.

Thanks for the tip, i'll probably ohm the wires tomorrow.

Thanks man. The ducts seem to working well. The other day,..I was driving in the morning to work...and I saw 81degree's as my intake air temp, after driving for about 8 minutes( I live close to work now). On saturday, in the dead 5 oclock heat of the day, I saw 111 degree's as my highest intake air temp with about 20 minutes of driving and consistent stops. So, i'd say it's working pretty good.

We still gotta sand down the inside and cut some extracting vents in the hood, then i'll paint the underside, and most likely add some thremal barrier stick-on pads.

Almost there G money,...almost there.
