This is, i think, the third vette I've heard that has burnt down. Not saying its a "problem" with the z06 but I would sure like to know the outcome on what caused it.
Interesting, there are some people that complain about a strong resin smell in some 08's. Maybe this could be related? GM says the resin smell is... uh, "normal" really? normal?!

I'll see if I can get some updates for you guys because I'll be hanging out with the OP and owner of the z06 tomorrow. Last thing I knew was that they were still waiting for a GM rep to make a decision on what they were going to do.

Shucks ! Why does everybody want to dump on GM ? **** , its only been about a month . You know how slow a big outfit like General Motors is . They have to go up the chain of command & discuss the possible consequences with their liability lawyers .Believe it people , they are looking for an excuse to deny this claim . I wouldn't wait another day . Get represented right now. As soon as they become aware that your being represented the wheels will start to turn. That and only that will get them up off their *** .

Agreed. Just be glad you were NOT hurt and since you were not, be happy when GM comes though on the replacement Z06.... don't hold your breath for a ZR1... ain't gonna happen.

Guess we know why there's a pause on Corvette production. Gotta look into that whole fire issue.
