Most definitely have it in second with the clutch out so you can quickly floor it.

yeah i just raced someone not to long ago at about 50-55 in 2nd. It's definitly high up there in RPM's so you just have it in gear and on third honk floor it and shift to third when need be. You think hearing honks is hard now, wait till ure at 55 in 2nd with full exhaust it gets quite difficult. haha.

It just so you can get the car to lunge forward, then nail 3rd. Maybe you want to invest in a Short throw shifter with a pistol grip shift ***. lol

second gear at 55mph roll. Go and drive the car. Run it in third at 55mph, then run it in second at 55mph. Huge difference!

already have the car in the gear it should be in with your foot off the clutch. Soon as you hear the third honk, not at the end of the honk but as soon as you hear it, you mash the gas and get ready to shift into third. Get a nice short throw shifter like the guys have been saying, that way the 2nd to third shift is like butter and you can never miss.

I love the bpp short throw shifter short throw than a pro 5.0+lou's short stick in a f-body, if you came from an f-body. The shifter is adjustable so you can put the handle where you want it to best suit your needs. Other shifters like kirban and hurst are pretty good as well. The stocker sucks!

If you have a username on the corvette forumyou can get a 10% discount on the products.
Just go out and drive the car and try some of the tips the guys have been saying. Not too hard, just need to get used to it.

with stock gearing it is good to about 95-98mph, can't be exact though. I was shifting before 100mph though into 4th on my Z. With my cam I am closer to 110mph now when shifting into 4th at around 7000rpms.

if there is enough steel, just drill the hole bigger and re-tap the threads.

Kenne bell=sick car!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLBHsFYsIck

for those of you not wanting to go through to find out what his car has:

AMERICANHP-This is my personal car. Its got an LS2 403 cid motor. This run was made at 16psi. It make right around 802rwhp, and 851rwtq SAE. The car made just under 800rwtq right around 1900 rpms, and carried over 800rwtq from just over 2000rpms to just over 5200rpms if memory serves me right. Mashing the pedal, is like spraying a 400shot single stage of nitrous. It hits HARD!!!!

I agree, I personally have seen a stock C5 Z06 pull a pullied Cobra... From a distance that is...

Of course I think the Z driver was the better driver... Although I know the Z driver fairly well...

z06.0 did u do u do any of ur own work? if u need some help i can do alot to that car i did all of my stuff except cam install...heads were a BITCH!! also except for tune i had put nitrous in at one time but never sprayed cause of all these mods plus nos+ls6 clutch=no no...stuck on side of road. but intake and headers are pretty easy so is intake manifold and catback...my car is currently sans catback which makes it unbearably loud and im afraid im doing damage to rings without catback
