[QUOTE=Z06.0;10292733]id like h/c/i but first comes the vararam and lts
GOOD CHOICE! What brand of headers?
That and starting out in second will help, if not beat the Cobra. (Remember, these Z's have some nice horsepower numbers stock, adding the LT's and Vararam should help it in the power department.)
GOOD LUCK!!!!

z06.0 did u do u do any of ur own work? if u need some help i can do alot to that car i did all of my stuff except cam install...heads were a BITCH!! also except for tune i had put nitrous in at one time but never sprayed cause of all these mods plus nos+ls6 clutch=no no...stuck on side of road. but intake and headers are pretty easy so is intake manifold and catback...my car is currently sans catback which makes it unbearably loud and im afraid im doing damage to rings without catback
Im thinking of OBX headers or used kooks from i think its justin at race proven if he still has them

Thats EXACTLY what i was thinking. 3rd is a bad gear. or do yourself a favor and go from a 20-30 roll in 1st Also i have a heads/cam/intake/LT's ORX with B&B Bullets(LOUD) and you will have a hard time hearing that 3rd honk lol I would suggest going with a C6 Z06 shifter and ****. They are like $180 for all of it and i've heard nothing but GREAT things about it for a shifter. Nice, smooth, short shifts. Just another choice~Cole~

Andy @A&A Corvettes is talking about a Vortech supercharger setup for $4500 (plus tune)! 500 rwhp is a walk in the park and not even making the blower work yet!
$4500 Vortech setup............
I've got an A&A setup on mine and I can tell you from experience, that a 550-600 rwhp Cobra WILL NOT beat you (even if you're in third gear)!
Oh by the way, the best way to solve the problem of which gear to be in is how I did it...............put a built A4, a decent rear gear in and a stall speed!
Problem solved!
Good Luck and Please don't let it get you down! You'll get them next time!

Down shift to 2nd with the revs at 3,000 RPM's and you should do much better! I have 768 RWHP and I down shift to 2nd to get me going. You have to be in your power band. If you want more power go to ECS and they hook you up with a blower that will mop the floor with 98% of the cars on the street. NOS is a cheap way to make a lot of power if it is set up properly and managed right.
