Default Ran against the new Challenger!

So i went to MIR test and tune today, it was a long day with rain delays, and waiting for the track to dry, but i ran a new personal best when it was all said and done. Best part, i raced a new Challenger with the 6.1! I have the slip, and we both run a 13.275. I went 107.74 and he was clocked at 105.40. He beat me off the line, but i ran him down. Here is my slip, i was in the left lane:
R/T .241 .062
60' 2.072 2.046
330 5.745 5.692
1/8 8.672 8.606
MPH 84.70 84.44
1000 11.171 11.137
1/4 13.257 13.257
MPH 107.74 105.40

I was a little dissapointed with his time, i thought they were a little faster. they did give him the win, so i guess he must have been a hair quicker on the official time. I know i can run a better time with my car, but this is the first time i have been out with my new wheels and tires. took me a few times down the track to learn where to launch it right. Let me know what you think!

You would've won if you had a little better 60 foot time. He was a little ahead of you from the get go and then you started reeling him in

He won because he reacted quicker, therefore he crossed the line 0.179 seconds ahead of you. Many races are won like that.

I think they are a little faster than that actually, a little better air and maybe a few more break in miles and those heavy Challenger SRT-8s are 12.9 second cars.
I saw the new 6 speed manual version up close the other day and it's a really cool car.

I don't know about that. I've seen a local SRT Challenger at our 1/8th mile track a few times and it's running consistant 8.4 to 8.6's. Even in great air two Thursday's ago it ran the 8.4x. I think it's just a low 13 car until it gets some mods. They definately look good though, but not better than the new camaro, IMO. Sorry I missed MIR today. I don't think I would have improved on my time from last Sunday anyway.

I havent seen a Challenger run but have seen, drove & ran against several SRT8 Chargers. 4 doors but same engine & weigh the same. Stock ones usually trap 106-109, 13.2-13.7 1/4. A few mods & high 12s. I work at the Dodge dealer so I see these cars every day. I prepped 2 RTs, an auto & an M6 with the T56 viper tranny last week. Both had the 5.7 375 hp. Out of the 2 I liked the 6sp auto one better. Both move good but just not nearly as good in the handling dept as our cars are. Then the next day, another tech got to prep the orange M6 SRT8 Challenger

well i had a ram powergrip hd but the shim that is required with it wasn't installed so it burnt out after only around 3k miles, but like i said it was because the shim wasn't put in. I just recently bought a mcleod single disc clutch and i should have it in hopefully by this weekend. Also the drill mod helps but honestly i am thinking about getting a tick performance adjustable master because it still is a lil hard to shift near 7k
