Default 13.21 @ 104, Opinions on low MPH?

Ok, I took the basically stock Z to the track today for the first time. First pass the car went 13.33 @ 105 w/2.15 60ft. Second pass went 13.37 @ 104 w/2.14 60ft spinning. Third pass went 13.48 @ 104 w/2.21 60ft spinning. Fourth pass came out easier and here is what it went:

60ft 1.99
1/8th et 8.51
1/8th mph 83.91
1000' et 11.05
1/4 et 13.21
1/4 mph 104.66

The car is an auto 98 Z28 w/111k on her, full weight, worn down BFG street tires on 16's. All that she has for mods currently are:

Flowmaster catback
K&N air filter (removed for last 3 runs)
BMR Tubular LCA's
Jet performance module (hear they are junk)

I would think that she should have a couple more MPH left in here, so, opinions are welcome

If you have 2.73s, that could explain the low mphs. But even still, I would figure closer to 108-109 maybe.

I have a 00 WS6 with about the same MPH as yours......I have a lid and a SLP LM. I don't think you MPH is all that low. If you had an M6 I would think it would be a little higher.

its normal. Ive seen cars trap 100 with the same mods. Better weather could help too, depending what the condtions were. I also would of put the filter back in after the MPH loss.

yeah, 104 is about right. When you get a lid w/ Ram ait that will bring the mph up to 106 or 107. Nice 60' BTW!

Thanks guys, haven't really had a stock ls1 before and it just seemed like I kept seeing people having a couple more mph, I just was probably missing some facts.

Here's a vid of the 13.21 pass

MPH and ET looks good to me. You don't know how much you're picking up with that Flowmaster and other than that you're basically stock. 60' is there for street tires on your last run and everything else looks good for a basically stock LS1 Fbody. What was the DA that day? That can play a big part, as well.

I'm running stock 3.23 gears in here and the DA for the run was ~748 feet. I have a set of stainless ebay longtubes here, LCA relocation brackets, and a yank 3800 sitting here so she won't be stock the next time she sees the track. Also have a few other small things planned for her

My dad had a 2001 Z28 ,auto, 3.23, Full weight t-top car that ran 8.50 1/8th @83-84 and 13.30 @104 stock at sea level track. Put a flowmaster, vig 2800, and k&n and went 8.40@ 84 and 13.20 @105 with stock tune. This was on the stock 17in goodyears. There is alot of torque management from the factory that kills mph and et. Your car is about average for the mods. A good tune would probably pick it up a few mph and 10ths

IT may be the stock tune, my gf's stock 99 with 3.23 would short shift the 1-2 and the rev limit is also set low, her car BONE STOCK...paper filter stock muffler went 13.5 @ 102 2.08 chirping the tires. If it were to ring out 1st gear a little longer and hook better, and have an air lid with ram air scoop i'm sure it would drop .2-.3 tenths and pick up a few mph.

on the 1-2 shift i could feel the car bog as it shifted into a lower rpm range. I wanna say it shifts at 5,500-5.600, if we ever get it tuned wit ha rebuilt tranny/performance, i will set the shift points at 6,100(worked great for my car) After full bolt-ons i set it at 6,300

Unfortunately, I don't have that data, there is just a dash on my timeslip for the 330, probably b/c the sensor wasn't working track just opened up and was probably having some issues.

Next time the car goes to the track it will have true duals off of my ebay stainless headers, a SS3800 yank, lid, and PP throttlebody, maybe more if I come across stuff for smoking deals

i have 2.73s and ran 13.6 at 103 so your numbers look on to me. actually your ET is pretty good for the trap speed, considering my old stock numbers.
