Importance of a good launch...my stock time is faster than my Cam-only time
Stock:
60': 2.132
1/8: 8.790
mph: 83.75
1/4: 13.44
mph: 105.39
Cam + bolt ons:
60': 2.377
1/8: 8.853
mph: 88.58
1/4: 13.19
mph: 113.52
The car was real easy to launch stock.
I could NOT get the launch down after the cam was installed. (obviously)
I am on stock gears and street tires and the car just bogged down or spun the ever living crap out of every run.
With Cam + bolt ons I made 409 whp and 394 tq. 2002 Trans Am 6-speed and full weight.
I'm thinking I won't go to the track again until I have 3 things:
1. 12 bolt
2. 4.10 gears
3. Nitto 555's
what do you guys think?

Dont do 12 bolt with a 6 speed, get the 9" or it wont hold up to hard launches. I am in the same situation as you. I put my car in the wall when I spun out in 3rd gear. The track is not a good place with a 400+whp car on street tires. Its not really worth the risk until you have proper tires and rear end.
