Default Importance of a good launch...my stock time is faster than my Cam-only time

Stock:

60': 2.132
1/8: 8.790
mph: 83.75
1/4: 13.44
mph: 105.39

Cam + bolt ons:

60': 2.377
1/8: 8.853
mph: 88.58
1/4: 13.19
mph: 113.52

The car was real easy to launch stock.
I could NOT get the launch down after the cam was installed. (obviously)
I am on stock gears and street tires and the car just bogged down or spun the ever living crap out of every run.
With Cam + bolt ons I made 409 whp and 394 tq. 2002 Trans Am 6-speed and full weight.

I'm thinking I won't go to the track again until I have 3 things:

1. 12 bolt
2. 4.10 gears
3. Nitto 555's

what do you guys think?

Damn, must be frustrating. Get the 12 bolt, blow up the 10 bolt at the track, then install 12 bolt.

All you need is some better tires(nittos suck) and seat time those 60s are terrible.

Dont do 12 bolt with a 6 speed, get the 9" or it wont hold up to hard launches. I am in the same situation as you. I put my car in the wall when I spun out in 3rd gear. The track is not a good place with a 400+whp car on street tires. Its not really worth the risk until you have proper tires and rear end.

1. 9inch
2. 3.73-4.10's
3. MT ET Streets

get some real tires.
Every 2 tenths on the 60' is worth 3 tenths up top.
