Default First time at the Track this year.

So Tonight was the first time this year i got to the track. Wasnt a very good night because i only got 2 runs in cause in rained .
i noticed to be having a lil bit of launching issues.

Car: 2000 Pontiac Trans-Am WS6.
Mods: GMMG Exhaust
Problem: Tried launching at 2000rpm and got a hell of alot of wheel bounce. Im running street tires at the moment, GoodYear Eagle ZR1's. I did a decent burnout before staging but when i launched the entire car was shaking like someone was jumping on the back of the car.

What would be some of the reasons for this? Possibly to low rpm to launch? or possibly a stiffer suspension setup required? please leave me ur thoughts and comments, thank you

doing a burnout on street tires can hurt you more than help you. you can try a higher rpm for launch. but with a stock rear i wouldnt.

boxed or tubular lower control arms will solve the wheel hop...and if its lowered, relocation brackets will help also.

Get a poly torque arm mount, inspect yours I bet it is all tore up. What you are experiencing is called wheel hop and its a good way to break ****. Should check out your tranny mount too. Also look into the 1LE bushing for your lower control arms, moog makes them.

what tire pressure did you run them at? usually wheel hop is from putting the pressure at like 35-40 psi. so make sure you check it while the tires are warmed up

wheel hop is cause from the suspension, it is normal. it could also depend on the tires as well.

You should also look into buying a good adj. torque arm.
