Default New best yesterday 10.62@127

I ran a new best yesterday before I broke my posi. Guess a spool is in my near future. Here is the rundown.

60ft----1.50
333ft---4.359
1/8th---6.771
mph----101.92
1000ft--8.856
1/4-----10.625
mph----127.41

Only changes were BMR torque arm mount, an air bag in the right rear and shock settings. I even left the passenger seat in for this run. Hopefully I can get my 60's down a little more and get it to run 10.40's full weight.

Here is the video.

Thanks. Your car is impressive for a bolt on car. Throw a big cam in that thing and you will be running 10's.

How much will that converter stall against the footbrake?

I was stalling it to about 3600 on that run. I tried to go higher on another run and it pushed through my brakes. I think it flashes to about 4600 according to my logs but its hard to tell. This converter is nasty with a stroker. My shift extension is 5800-5900 so it stay in the powerband perfectly. I can't believe I broke my rear with an auto but shows you how hard this converter hits. I'm only putting out 471rwhp unlocked.

Thumbs up

What track? Just curious what the DA was like. I'm impressed with how hard it leaves on a 26" DR.

This was at Cecil in MD. I think the the DA was around 700-800 on that run. The 26'' DR is proving to be a pita. That was the only pass that I have stayed hooked so far. I actually didn't go WOT on that pass until the top of third gear according to the log. If I go wot off of the line it spins a couple of feet out.

I swapped to a 28" tire and never looked back. I have a SY3500 and am able to get about 2500-2600 RPM at the line. I go WOT and the car dead hooks. What posi unit do you have? 30 or 33 spline? I was thinking of getting a Strange 12 bolt, but may have to go up to an S60 to prevent breakage. My 10 bolt lasted 13 launches before it split the carrier in two.

I had the 33 spline with the HD posi. I just bought these wheels and tires so I'm going to use them for the rest of the year unless I find a good deal on 28's. My rear has been in the car for four years with the abuse of a six speed but it only had about 5 passes on the track with the six speed and 15 passes with the auto. I hate to go to a spool but I only drive it about 3k miles per year so it should be fine.

I am running the 275/60's on a 15X8 rim, I know a 15X10 is suggested. But, what I have works so far. I originally planned on going 275/50's... I had 275/50 Nitto DR's at first - they were useless. 100 MPH and they were still spinning. I came across a crackhead deal on a brand new set of 275/60's and dove in with two feet. I like how consistent my car is on that tire, and have room to grow as it sits. I'm usually around 5800-5900 RPM at the stripe, my HP peaks @ 6200. If I keep seeing people breaking posi units in 12 bolts, I guess an S60 is in my future. I drive my car as much as possible, including to & from the track. Reliability & strength is a must.

damn that thing hauls ***. The most impressive thing is that your using TSP LS6 stage 3 heads and not L92's or some other exspensive aftermarket casting. What kind of numbers did you put down on the dyno.

I had it on the dyno last month to retune with the auto and put down

472rwhp/416rwtq unlocked
509rwhp/461rwtq locked

I wish I had the money for some TFS heads and 1 7/8 headers to see if I could crack 9's NA. Maybe next year.
