Just because you get gears does not mean you will drop in ET right away. You are used to a 2.73 and a 3.73 will allow you to spin a lot more and that can also hurt you.

I always leave the car in OD because it is better for the transmission that way and the 2-3 shift is much quicker than in D.

That's when it's time to let Mickey Thompson ride with you.

I never hit 3rd in the 1/8 mile anyways. I can go the hole 1/8 and only shift 1 time. 1-2. If it spins thats when you put Drag radials on it. I now I have read going from 273-373 it will knock .4-.6 off your time.

That may be possible.. but don't get your hopes up.. .2-.3 would be ALOT in my opinion.. now if we were talking about a converter that would be a different situation..

That's fine, and I hope the best for you, and it very well may happen, but I'm just saying don't get your hopes up too much. Go there underestimating your gains and you will always come away happy..

Otherwise this happens:

You run 13.2 stock, and then start decided what each addition is going to net you gain wise.

ET reduction...
lid: .1
free mods: .1
ported TB: .1
pulley: .1
catback: .1
cutout: .1
Headers: .3
gears: .5
stall converter: .6
tune: .2
sticky tires: .2

added up = 2.4 seconds off your 13.2... oh wait why can't I run a 10.8??? All the numbers add up..

Thanks Iam not getting my hopes up. I just want to hit 12s in the 1/4 with the mods Iam gonna do for now. What should the other mods I done net me in time. Those are the mods Iam gonna have when I take it back to the track.. I like to find a ported TB. If I get my 60ft down below 2.0 like 1.8-1.9 that will be .1-.2 off my time to.
Lid=.1
Catback: .1
Gears: .5
tune: .2
Stickytires: .2
K&N:
SLP MAF:
SLP Y-pipe:
Throttle Body Bypass:

Yes, but what I'm saying is that doing that doesn't work.. you can add up the numbers all you want but it won't come out to the correct total..

I am saying that in case you decide to run a 1/4 mile track being there are 3-4 within 2 hours of you and 2 within an hour of you.

I doubt you will see .6 off an ET. That is a lot for just gears, heck a Stall can drop as much as that and they are a great mod to drop ET. Do not get wrapped around the mod numbers game. Mod the car, set the car up for what you want to do and race the thing. If you don't get what you want, tweak it and figure it out. Just do not put a mod on and expect to drop a certain amount of ET because you read it would. Race your race with your car and you will get better.

I dropped .9 off my ET from my 3 runs in 2008 and I didn't mod the car further. Just had a few bugs worked out with the help of Frost came out in August of this year and practiced and made a few driving adjustments.

Ya Iam not gonna get in the mod number game. When I do 373 gears,Catback, mySLP Y-pipe with the mods I have now I want to run atleast 12s in the 1/4 or atleast 13.0s. When I save up Iam gonna do Longtube,ORY, too. But thats later down the road. So Frost is who I should go with to tune my car....Ya there is MIR,VMP,Mason Dixion,if richmond is a 1/4 that 4 1/4 tracks near me. But there is Sumerduck,Colonial beach,Old dominion are 1/8 mile tracks near me to..

went to sumerduck tonight and I ran this.. My best at sumerduck was 8.88@79mph.

RT-.580
60'-2.050
330'-5.770
1/8-8.720
MPH-81.30

If it picks up what it did last time from sumerduck to colonial beach drag strip it would be around this. 8.66@85mph. with 1.9 60'

Yup That was at Colonial beach. I went 9.03@79 at sumerduck then went to colonial beach the next night and ran a 8.88@82MPH. Lastnight I went a 8.81@81MPH at sumerduck. It should run 8.66@85MPH at Colonial beach now. All I did to it was add the Throttle body bypass,Delphi 85mm MAF..The weather was about the same.as when I went 9.03@79 now I went 8.81@81MPH..

Yup Iam done running it at the track this year. Iam gonna do SLP Loudmouth 1 Catback,SLP Y,373 gears over the winter. Then my next mods after that will be LT headers/Stall but that might be another year down the road. Iam hoping for 8.2-8.3 when I do Catback,SLP Y,373 gears.
