Default went to the track tonight

I went to the track tonight and this is what I ran. I changed the stock wheels and tires for 17x8.5 C5 wheels on the front and 18x9.5" C5 wheel on the back. When it had the stock wheels and bone stock the best I got out of it was.
BONE STOCK
RT-.332
60'-2.037
330-5.937
1/8-8.884
MPH-79.65

This is with C5 wheels,SLP LID, I wounder if it would have ran better with the stock wheels for being lighter.

RT-.397
60'-2.014
330-5.900
1/8-8.764
MPH-81.56

RT-.390
60'-2.018
330-5.880
1/8-8.764
MPH-81.56

I also posted on EFA's site as well. Not bad considering the weather. Keep practicing as those times should get lower. A LS1 should be running 8.5-8.7 in the 1/8th around 83-85 mph. Right now you are at a 14 second or so 1/4 mile.

Just for thought, I have a 98 A4 with a SLP lid, catback, cutout and the same wheels and sumitomo tires. Granted I do have a few suspension mods(i don't see if your does or not), but that isn't going to make the difference between our cars and my last pass last saturday was
60'- 2.0
1/8- 8.6
mph- 84.46
1/4- 13.33
mph- 104.02

In summer heat it was
60'- 2.1
1/8- 8.7
mph- 83.49
1/4- 13.49
mph- 102.88

How are you shifting? Are you leaving it in OD or D?

There's more to be gained in your driving technique, I'm not sure about the weight difference between the stockers and the 18s, but my 18s with tires feel alot lighter than my 16s with tires. But my car pretty much stock, just a K&N panel and 2.73 gears went 1.99 60ft and 8.85 1/8th @ 80.48

Try leaving it in OD and stall it around 1200-1500 and see how that works.

Good advice here, when I blew up the 2.73's at the track (sucked) I got a rear out of a 6 speed. Dropped .4 sec of my 1/4 time just with a change in gearing, after a proper tune so that the trans knew what the hell was happening

Ok thanks my buddy has complete rear it was in a 6 speed car It was in a LS1 car. But my buddy said it has 373 gears. But probally has 342 gears. He said he will give it to me. Its in his and he said soon as he find another rear I can come get it. So I will be Low 13s with 342s/373s. after a tune

Before I go to the track again Iam gonna install my SLP Y-pipe,SLP 85mm MAF,Catback exhaust,342s/373s gears. Iam hoping somewhere in the 12s.

I wouldnt say the 2.73's are hurting him too bad, cause I have 2.73's and recently went back to the track and I was trapping 108 + mph and running 8.6 in the 1/8th. I stalled at 1500 and babied it off the line and still cut a 2.1 60 ft.

Those are good times though OP im sure your times will go down alot with those mods you wanna do!

You are low 13's without the gears. I would stay away from the SLP maf. Seen them fvck up a few cars and it really isn't needed.

Have you tried stalling it to 1100-1500? Also are you leaving it in D or OD? You should be running it in OD.

What did it mess up on the cars I now my buddy has one on his Z28 and its been on there for years and nothing has happened. Hes running 7.9s on motor and low 7s on the spray..

I have tryed stalling it up and it runs better from a Idel. and I tryed both D and OD and it runs the same times.

ya gotta get that reaction time down bro. Are you going on the green light or on the 3rd yellow light? On street tires it's best to go at the 3rd yellow light. Trust me, you won't redlight.

I dont think .525/.521 I have done a .502 I dont think thats bad at all since 500 is the best and a 499 red.... At sumerduck Iam redlighting all the time. At coloial beach Iam in low 5s. Iam leaving on the last yellow light. if I was leaving when its green I would be at 800-1000 recation time.

Any ways the reaction time dont have nothing to do with the time anyways.

I just gotta get that 60ft down to 1.8-1.9 on street tires. I think 373 gears will help me on that if I hook up. Iam getting ready to install a 85mm delphi MAF,SLP Y-pipe,Smooth Bellows,Throttle body bypass,K&N, I cant wait till I do 373 gears. I cant wait till I get a Catback exhaust Its not loud at all right now.
