383 timeslip help
My friend and I need help figuring out what is wrong with his car. Here is a quick run down on the car.
01 z28
383 stroker approx. 11.1 Compression
MS4 cam
5.3 Stage 2.5 Heads
Fast 92/92
85/85 Lid and Maf
1 7/8 Texas Speed Long Tubes
Texas Speed 3 inch True Duals
-Drivetrain
TH400 4200 Circle-D Stall, TCI Flexplate
Moser 9inch Detriot Locker, 35 spline, 4.11 gears
3.5 inch steel driveshaft
Full suspension beside drag bar.
The car put down 430rwhp/370rwtq on a mustang dyno.
He previsouly ran 11.4@120 w/ 1.8 60' ni bad weather on a slick track. This past weekend we went back to milan which was well prepped. He cut a 1.63 60' this time and went 11.5@119???? DA is around ~1500.
Even disregarding the slower time with a better 60' this car should be cutting a way better 60' and going at least high tens IMO. What should we look for and do? It's going back on the rollers thursday to get everything checked out. He is close to saying F*** it and putting a 200 shot on it.
Thanks guys.

I never did like the 5.3 heads, never saw impressive numbers, I would think a set of trick flow 215 would let the bigger cubes breathe alot better. notice what rpm are you at near the end of the traps. if you are abouve 6200 i can see the trick flows picking up power.

28x10 MT et streets
stock plus roll cage
Not 100% sure on the rpm but it is up there. 6200+
Agree, I think a 12 bolt with 30 spline axles would have been more efficient and maybe a 3600 converter. Weigh the car and let us know what it is.I never did like the 5.3 heads, never saw impressive numbers, I would think a set of trick flow 215 would let the bigger cubes breathe alot better. notice what rpm are you at near the end of the traps. if you are abouve 6200 i can see the trick flows picking up power.

Went back on the dyno today and only put down 360rwhp! Were thinking it's a valve spring problem and tsp is looking into it. But 11.5 with only 360 is good in our book.
He is Thinking of a head swap to some 205/225 afr's not sure which to go with tho...
