so what is a "slipper" clutch???

How about this...

He has a lot of seat time/practice, and is just better than us. Something for the rest of us to aspire to.

Very true. Rob spent a great deal of time researching and asking a lot of questions. He ordered everything himself. He went to a well know engine machine shop here in central NJ to have the short block prepped and then, with help from a friend, assembled the motor. Once he had the parts (he picked the prepped short block up a week after dropping it off) it was less than two weeks before he had it assembled, in the car and tuned. About a week or two after that he had the car at a rental for some "break-in" passes where he went 9.6 first time out at 143+.

While it is true he has a slipper clutch and a face plated tranny, he still chooses to shift with the clutch, even though the face plated tranny was designed to shift essentially without clutch engagement.

And yes...we could all learn a lot about driving from Rob, who, I might add, is more than happy to help people out in that respect.

Anyway but raw.

BTW...you wouldn't be headed up to MA again anytime soon? If next Monday, I'd hitch a ride.

Yes he is well known...
Why you avoid mentioning him is baffling...
