1/8th mile help..
Mods/Info:
*SLP LM1
*SLP Lid
*Koni Shocks
*Strano Springs
*Tires: 245 firestone firehawk wide ovals on stock 16" rims
*M6
*70k miles
Here are the best timeslips:
Reaction-------60'----------330'------594'------1/8 ET-------1/8 MPH
0.6630-------2.2161-------6.0178----8.4939----9.0421---------82.09
0.5771-------2.1728-------6.0018----8.5019----9.0549---------81.36
0.6059-------2.1760-------6.0501----8.5562----9.1079---------81.55
what looks like i can improve on?
should i be in the 8's?
what should my 60' be?
friend w/ 1995 z28 M6 ran 9.08 on 275 riken raptors.. are my tires limiting me substantially because they're only 245?
any input is appreciated..

You need to add more info..ie: are u going thru waterbox, which u shouldnt be with those tires, how are u launching and and what are u shifting at? IMO u should be almost a second quicker unless its High altitude track or alot of Humidty..

Additional Info:
A) Launching @ around 2000 RPMs (usually minor spin off line)
B) No waterbox or any tire spin prior to staging
C) Normal Altitude
Oh here are some vids also of 2 of the runs listed above:

I could be wrong tho..
I thought ideally you should spin barely off the line to get the most amount of friction available..
I shift right before the rev limiter or whatever, probly 5500ish?.. not quite sure
according to the internet the track is 1,126 ft above sea level if that helps

Sticky tires and/or working on your launch would be the next thing to focus on. There are multiple 6-speed threads with help in the drag racing tech section.

60ft will always be problem for 6speed on a street radial. But as others said, your MPH is low. A lid and catback shouldnt "hurt" the stock tuning, so I wouldnt think its that. For some reason ive seen stock cars respond very well to a basic tune, wouldnt hurt to try

I'm not looking to tune the car, or mod it any further...
I was just wondering what i should be at as the car sits now..
If I'm going to have better times, i want it to be a result of me getting better, not just throwing money @ the car..
Is 1200ft above sea level considered a high enough altitude to lessen hp? I would expect it wouldnt be..
How do you guys shift between 1st and 2nd... do you push in clutch, go into 2nd fast as possible without grinding or something, let out the clutch fast (tires chirp), etc??
i know it sounds trivial me asking but i just want to make sure you guys arent powershifting or something..?
on my friends G-Tec it said my shifts took 1 full second going from the time i let off the gas to push in the clutch -----> to when i am in 2nd and chirp the tires
so my shifting is slow then?

Well you should at least get the car scanned for codes and monitor O2 readings, check plugs and wires, clean your MAF, check/replace air and fuel filters, and make sure you are running 91-93 octane fuel.
The car is down on power which is a symptom of problems that go beyond the drag strip. Has it been getting poor mileage? Idling rough? Hesitating?
Past that, practice launching to get your 60ft down and shifting. Make sure you're staying WOT through the traps and not lifting early...some tracks have confusing finish areas.
But like I said your MPH is low so either you lifted early or the car needs some attention somewhere. Your time slips look exactly like mine from when I had a 350 sbc/700r4 and weighed over 3800lbs...that engine would be lucky to be putting down 280rwhp.

*idles fine
*gets 19mpg mixed city/town driving
*you may have a point that maybe i'm letting off early at the trap...never thought about it really
Tell me if this makes sense:
-My best 60' was 2.17 i believe so, i should launch at 2100-2200 rpms or so(i did 2000)? what is ideal for a stock ls1 M6?
-As i mentioned, my shifting on my friends G-Tech thing said it took me a 1 full second to shift each gear.. i should be taking way less time than that?
thank you for your help, this is helping me

i'd say a lot of your improvement will be seen from a better 60' and most likely your shift points.
the car in sig has almost an identical setup - lid and flowmaster muffler were the only upgrades. at the time it went 8.3s @ 87 on a 2.0-2.1 60'. i know that the factory ws6 wheels are wider, i'd like to think that a narrower tire with more sidewall would hook better. how much air is in those tires? i went from 2.2-2.3 down to 2.0-2.1 by dropping the psi to 20 from 35. it hurt my trap, but improved my et. i've had better luck slipping the clutch to achieve a decent 60. i've had a few 1.9s, but mostly do 2.0-2.1ish.
and yes, that ta is 2 tortillas from the ground.

seems crazy but would running all my HID lights draw too much current and limit power of the engine (analogous to running the AC while racing or something)
Obviously I just suck at launching, lol, but seriously would this have an effect?
edit:
35w*4 lights = 140 W ( 1 HP / 745.7 watts) = ~1hp
guess not lol

The ET doesn't look to bad, but the mph is the only problem. I trapped 84 with nothing but free mods. I would probably guess that the car needs a driver mod. I can't watch the video at work, but that's what I would think.
Maybe you could try a tune up and see if that helps.

I don't think your MPH is the problem. My bone stock SS ran 8.75 @ 82 mph. ......60 ft times were 2.0 - 2.1
My 88 Formula (several mods) ran 8.12 @ 83 mph on DR's tho
I would lower the tire pressure to 22-24 PSI and try to experiment with different launch techniques...ie RPM....dump the clutch vs slipping the clutch....put some weight in the trunk..lol
