Default 4400 to a 4000 stall= faster times

Finaly got my camaro to the track this year on sunday at byron raceway. Last year I ran a best of 11.55@115mph with a 1.57 60ft with a da of 760. This past sunday I ran a best of 11.57@116mph with a 1.57 60ft with a da on 2400. Only difference is I swapped from a fuddle 4400 stall to a yank ss4000 stall. They hit about the same off the line but the yank is so much more efficient on the top end. Mods are torquer v3, partiot ls1 heads, ls6 intake, ported throttle body, yank ss4000, 4.10 gear, 275/60r15 bfg drag radial. 363hp/325tq dyno tuned. Need title change please

no 11.55 was my previous best. If i ran with a da similar to last year compared to on this past sunday i would have gone 11.3-4@117-118mph. Yes it looks like I went slower but im actually going faster if i ran in exactly the same da.

Not for sure if you care or not, but it looks as if you are down in power a bit. A heads and cam car should be in the 120 traps in the 1/4, although it does depend on your race weight.

But 363rwhp is a little low definitely and your mph is showing the same to.

Mid 11's is definitely moving though good job.

yeah it does look my car is low on power. But I try and not get caught up in dyno numbers and make due with what i got. Im thinkin my trans may be starting to slip a tiny bit. I have to go through my hp tuners and verify it. But Im happy with the results and very happy with the new yank converter.

Going to a Yank from a Duddle definitely helps. As far as the car being down on power, was the converter locked for the pull? Since it was a Fuddle, and judging by the low torque #, I'm guessing no.

Unlocked with Patriot heads, an inefficient converter, and 4.10 gears isn't going to make a good number. Looks like the car moves out just fine. What's it weigh?

you dont see many 120 MPH heads and cam auto ls6 LS1 cars.

I think your fine on power, if you cut a 1.3 or 1.4 your bottom 11s, thats hauling the mail.

My friend with a 6 speed gto was all over how my car was down on power because he made more on the dyno with a cam only...... Until we raced and he got stomped.

Sweet times!

115/116 mph is about right for 3500-3600 raceweight IMO.

Raceweight is right bout 3400lbs give or take a few pounds. Still have alot of stuff I can yank to pull wieght but not going to for a lil bit. When it was dynoed was with the fuddle converter and I believe it was locked. I know I can also run a lil better times if I switched back to a 26" tire vs a 28" which I running now. I had to switch to the 28" tire cause the fuddle was so loose that I was right at 7k rpms at 115mph thru the traps with the fuddle. Any way in a few weeks when it cools down some I gonna run again and see what it does with cooler weather. Thanks for the coments.

Just a little info on my Fuddle. Lock I made 449rwhp with my little 347ci motor, unlocked I made 402.. so 47hp loss = 10.4% Talk about a great efficient converter.. I'm sure it will be worse with the 418 that is going in it. I need to buy a new verter..

i saw the same thing after i sold a camaro. it had a fuddle converter in it, which at the time at 25k miles on it. bolt on car w/3600 raceweight went 12.2s @ 109. new owner put a yank converter in it and went 12.0s @ 111. both converters were 4k stall.

my next converter will definately be a yank.
