I data log on hp tuners, its more around 6000, from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd, but from 3rd to 4th its right at 5900. That's with the shift light set at 5800.

haha if only it were that easy...it is a whole new ball game after you get the power of a cam...

built trans, built rear, $400 rear drag bar, front shocks, tq arm...just to get it to hook the way it did SI...

once you go cam or h/c you will forget all about the SI days except for maybe how much easier and cheaper it was...

I understand what your saying, and if you want to stay SI thats cool, saves money and mpg's . but my stock internal was a 11.89, it was fast and fun , but with the cam I spun to a faster time...11.56 and that was just a 224 cam, once I got a better cam 232/234, it went 10.9's. 00blacka4 has a big stall, and if he pairs that with a good cam there will be no SI cars touching him, unless they are guttted 2600lbs RW.

Most h/c cars that get beat by SI cars are set up wrong, such as heads cam 6 speed with 3.42's or autos with 3.23's and stock or small stalls(3200k and under)

like chris1313 said get a cam and the SI days will be gone.

I have a stock ls1 in my Ram and am already tired of it, well techically I have the SI record for a ls1 ram, no rewards yet so I'm getting a cam

I'm not sure, I got a real good deal on a ls6 cam/ springs from a vette, but I have the feeling I won't be happy with it.. I had a 224 cam in the camaro and it wasn't near big enough, my tv.2 cam barely pulls off what I want.

I would imagne you'd like something relatively small for the truck. 228R would be pretty sweet though. Check out those new EPS cams for the Camaro though, or call up Tony Mamo @ AFR since he could you hook you up to match those heads.

You probably have the only LS motor in a Ram.. That is differant. But a big block 440 would be much better my dad has a 440ci in a 73 duster that gets down N/A..

The 440 with edelbrockheads, bored .040 over, headers, and 2400 stall was 1.7 secs slower in the 1/4 and got 9 less mpg's. The 440 looked cool, but just cannot compare to todays LS engines.

What does your dad's 440 duster run? mpg's? sounds like a nice classic car, post up some pics if you have'em
