Default Crate ls6 new best

1.73 60' 11.17 @ 124.6 Just thought I would share. I think it would go faster with a better 60, maybe even a 10.9 but I sold my drag wheels. The suspension is a Road race setup. Ran lots of 11.2's @ 124+. Not bad for a 80,000 mile production crate engine from 2002.

Sorry abour no sig. A mod banned me the other week for disagreeing with him and it's gone. Anyway, full bolt-ons. The engine itself is stock crate 2002 ls6. Car weighs 3100 w/o me and still has the a.c. and sound deading and seats. The weight was lost by using my own creative methods

Definitely a quick car for not having a drag oriented setup. I'm sure that faceplated trans helps a ton though.

Thanks guys! The faceplated trans allows me to not use the clutch when I shift. Just breathe the throttle and pull the gear and off ya go. My weight saving methods are pretty simple...if you can remove ...take it off make it lighter and put it back on. I've drilled lots of holes in stuff but since I worked on a road race team for 17yrs it all looks professional. My car weighed 3430 w/o me stock. Lots of little stuff has helped to get it there. Sometimes I whittle on **** to get oz's out it. I always repaint it or finish it nicely before it goes back on the car. Most of it came from the clutch, wheels/tires, exhaust. Maybe I'll take a pic so you get the idea.

I like to make things myself....why would you want to take out the bumper????? It's tieing the front frame rails together helping impact resistance and chassis stiffness plus it helps hold the front bumper cover in place. I hate seeing people take that out.

thanks....it's a work in progress. I don't spend much money on it.....just some time now and again....same plugs in it for 4 years. I'm gonna make a aluminum belly pan for the back of it and see if that helps mph next.

you dont always have to throw money this is the kind of **** that people dont do only racers sitting in the shop looking at there car at 1am trying to see how they can drop another tenth off there time ...Im going to do the same to my bumper support ..excellent job looks great .....back in the day after they acid dipped the body they would start cutting holes every where till it started to look scary then they would cut more..........
