Default Vig 3600 to CircleD 5C....Possible Gains??

I'm going to be switching to a CircleD 5C (4000-4200) from a PI3600 and I would like anyones guess on possible gains. Background information on the car is: 2001 Camaro, LS1 stock short block, PRC 2.5 Heads, MS3, Ported 92mm FAST, 12-Bolt w/4.10's and weighs 3250 with a driver. Currently the car has run the best of 11.01@123 (7.0@97) in the 1/4 and recently after some changes runs 6.80's@99-100 (haven't run it in the 1/4 yet). The car ran 6.80's 4 times in a row with a 1.47 60' foot so I would say it's consistant. Right now the current converter flashes to 3500 from what I can see in my logs and goes from 6600 down to 5000 when it shifts. I believe when I spoke to Chris about the 5C he stated that it should flash to around 4200 and hit hard. I'm just wanting a guess on gains in the 60' and 1/4 mile. Thanks!

Yeah, I'm curious also and I know the car is going to pick up but I don't know how much. For how small the current converter is it sure seems to 60' well. That's why I checked my logs because I thought it might have been flashing higher than expected. If you look at the fastest people with MS3's all of them have a 4000+ stall, so I figure I'm heading in the right direction. If it dips in the 1.3 60's I'd be very happy.

What is the STR on both converters? I would say that would be where you would see the biggest benefit from. Increased STR.

The Vig is a 2.53 and the CircleD 5C is a 2.6 from what I've researched. I think moving the stall speed up 400-600 RPM's would also play a factor in increased performance. I think the 5C will keep my NA motor in it's powerband versus what the Vig is doing right now.

That's the way I'm headed right now because since my last runs I've taken 95-100 pounds out of the car. Hopefully I can find some more cheap weight to take out of the car.

Turbrostang,

I would really love to see the results man. You have one strong car for sure man. I am running a vigilante 3200 and i am looking at stepping up to a circle D 4C or even a 5C converter. I want to see how much more of a gain you get.

OMG! Your sig had me laughing for 5 minutes. Thanks for the compliments, I really like the Vig I have now but it just doesn't fit my setup. The converter has been in the car a couple of years and I spec'd it for a stock motor with spray. I thought I could get away with it being smaller but it's tighter than what I want. I'll probably keep it laying around just in case I put the nitrous back on the car. Anyways, I will keep everyone updated on the gains.

It will flash a bit higher than 4200 from my experience, the cam only 4c cars I do flash right around there in reality. Unless it doesnt make any torque, which the MS3 isnt really a strong midrange cam, but it will like it looser better for sure

I run a Circle D 4C in my LT1 car and it does hit very hard. I was cutting 1.42's 60ft at the LTX shootout and was very happy with the way their converter performed. I'm hoping there is some room to bump up the rpms on my converter looking for some 1.3's also.
