Default Guys with Cut-Outs ...

What are your E.T.'s/mph gains with the cut-out open vs. closed at the track ?

I may be ordering a DMH one soon myself.

The gains are going to more based off the restriction of the catback.

I run a DMH cutout on my 4" catback and see no gains on the dyno or track. We have a 3" DMH on my fathers 01 Z/28 with a SLP dual/dual and see 10ish rwhp NA on the dyno and 1-2 mph gains at the track.

cutouts are cool either way and it's fun to scare people . LOL

I have the same cat-back like your Dad has. 10+rwhp on the dyno is nice, but I want to see true "TRACK 1/4 MILE " results.

When I had my 93 Z-28 h/c car back in 1994/95 with a cut-out , it ran a solid .2 tenths and 2.5 -3 mph quicker every time. I had a set of Hooker LT's and Sinlge Outlet 3" Flowmaster at the time.

So I guess I'm finding it kinda hard to beleive with all these guys on this board with h/c cars with a "cut-out" aren't getting at least a solid .2 tenths and 2-3 mph more open up. LOL ,with that 4" exhaust you have man.... your exhaust is "open" all the time. That's a beast of an exhaust !

I can see you gaining big with that Blowmaster you had. I did not expect to gain anything with a cutout, but it more for the rowdy / scare factor.

I say 10rwhp is seen on average from most 3" catbacks with a cutout and 1-2 MPH. We see 2-3 MPH on spray with my fathers car with cutout open v's closed. These gains all come down to the more power you make and the more restrictive the exhaust becomes.

I gained 10 rwhp on the dyno vs. my Flowmaster muffler (probably similar to your dual-dual). I imagine if I was more than a bolt-on car that the gains would be more. I've never track tested it.
