12.30s @119.02 on real street tires not DRs
02 SS Camaro, with Hooker LTs and catted y-pipe, with 3inch I-pipe, Ported TB,SLP LID, HSW plate kit spraying 100shot stock engine and convertor and trans and suspension with 275-40-17 Yokohamas ran 12.30 in 95 degrees HOTTTT in southeast Texas. The car wont 60foot with those tires ,The best I have run is 2.001 60 ft but she mph's like crazy. Been racing in this street tire only no drag radial class and what is the next step to get it to run in the 11 s on true street tires. If I put a convertor in it ==it will spin even more I figure on those tires. are there some better sticky street tires that will hook better or what is the next step to pick it up?? What are your thoughts?? If I could hook it would run in the 11s==maybe there is a sticky street tire I don't know about.
Thanks

.3 is tuff to make up, maybe a better tire and a mild stall like a 2500. The eagle F1's are good... I ran 1.9 60's on BGF g-Force T/A KDW 2 with my STOCK c5 vette! They were very sticky... they hooked good! I would recomend them.

If you get a higher stall converter, it will be very hard to hook on street tires. Even with stock power and a good convertor, it was very tough to get a 60' below 2.4 on a street tire. Actually got a slower time with the street tires. Different story once the drag radials were placed on the car. Get a drag radial with it and be prepared to leave out the hole hard.

Hes running street tire only class, you can hook a 2500 stall on a street tire. My friends bolt-on 06 GTO has a 2600 with street tires, he hooks pretty good and pulls 2.0 60s all the time! Any more stall and ya, not going to be a good combo... but 2200-2600 should work fine as long as you dont have much power.

Get some 275/60-15 mastercraft tires. They are the cheap tires. They have a soft sidewall though and will help you get off the line. Guys are pulling 1.5-1.6 60fts with these in the street tire classes.
Remove weight from the front of the car and add balast over the rear tires. Learn how to pedal the car.
Good luck, you can do it, if you setup the car right.

I really like racing my car on the street tires. Sure, you'll get better times on drag tires, but it really is challenging and fun trying to harness the power with slippery tires. I've managed 11.7s on street tires on a cold track. FUN!!!

try the nitto 555's. i ran them for about 3k miles before i went to the 555R(which is the drag radial)
they hook good on the track, and so-so on the street. i think i got a 1.8x 60ft
plus you will get good miles out of them, and when ur ready to try the 555RII drag rad. u can move them to the front and have a matching set. thats what i did.
