Default So close to 7.0's (1/8th)?

looking at some time slips and doing some comparing to the new car vs. my old pewter car.

My old pewter car (370ci) @3,4xx race weigh (#4167):

The current red car (382ci) @3,600lbs race weight.

*On this pass I did kill a little over 2mph. Est. at a 7.14 pass at 93mph.*

Does the mph seem low for the ET in my current car? Is the weight and/or wheels and tires hurting it that much? There's no ram air besides the SS hood on the car. It looks like it doesn't pull like it should from 330ft to the 1/8th compared to my old car?

Any thoughts?

like ive preached to everyone else, gut the lower airbox if its not... you say only ramair is the hood, so im guessing you havent gutted the lower airbox... a damn near stock car will pick up 2-3mph from this in the 1/4.. i can see yours gaining that in the 1/8...

Yes, the lower box has been cut by the previous owner.

A real ram air system would definitely help the mph especially if you were to run 1/4 mile. It won't knock off much ET though.

Maybe I'm expecting too much. I'm happy about the ET, was just looking at timeslips and was wondering why the MPH was so low and and ot didn't pull from 330ft-1/8th. Hell 93MPH may be right for it. I just thought 95-96mph is where it should be though.

Motor was built years ago using a Lunati 382ci rotating assembly. Not sure on compression or even the cam (it sounds pretty small). Ported 806 heads, LS6 intake, old style SLP long tubes with catted Y pipe and a DMH electric cutout. Has 1.8 Crane Gold roller rockers as well.

This is what I've gathered from previous owner and the guy that built the motor. It seems like a real simple non radical setup, but lots of unknown parts.

Now has a built 4l60e with a circle D 4C converter and 3.73 gears.

Heads are choking you bad... That mph should be in the 95mph min. range even with your weight.

Possibly has a small MTI cam, it sounds like a 22x cam. Unless it's on a pretty wide LSA.

MTI motors had small cams on wide lsa.
I had one of their 382 and the cam was on a 116 lsa.
I have the Lunati crank and rods in my 418 now.
Back in the day MTI were the *****!!

Went back today and ran decent....the 26" QTP's quit hooking so I ran some borrowed 28x10x17". Well, 3.73's and 28" slicks don't go well NA especially in the 1/8th lol.

7.16 is screwing no matter what the setup is. Car must be a torque monster.

Intake is killing you! I couldnt get more than 91.5 in the 1/8 with h/c 346 ls6 intake. I picked up 37hp with fast 102/102 out of box...hitting track today

I'm sure it will go 7.0's NA. Have a couple changes that would help, but I'm going to focus on getting the white Z28 going here soon. It'll be a little FI project...

Nice work! I am really curious as to what my transam is going to run N/A, and it should run really close to yours. I was trying to go for a goal of hitting 6.99 or better with mine N/A.

Congrats on your runs, 1.50 sixty foot is gettin it pretty good!
