What heads and valves, also rockers? She is not happy at all above 6600...definitely valvetrain issues...

Get some lighter valves, stock trunion rockers, nice springs, check pushrod length/preload and you should be golden....

Helped my car out a ton!!

Your first time makes sense though and seems inline...
Here is the break down in cut and paste form from the Chevelle site with car description added. Weird the car has mid to high 10 60' with mid to high 10 mph yet ran 10 teens running down a car that had the hole shot and trapped a higher mph.

I think the answer might have been found right above your post (see below)....

What gears are in the car? Guess I am wondering what rpm it traps at that the springs would effect the top end like that; but still let the car pull that hard in the middle of the track.

Well when I ordered the heads through tony mano he said they were light weight stainless valves....I was also told to go yella terra rockers...but stock ones seemed lighter imo... also at the time of the first dyno vs the second with the new y-pipe I have about 9,000 miles on those springs the red strip springs...I remember having 1 1/2 turns of preload with the ls7 lifters either way I need this lined out asap before she floats a valve to hard

I'm trying to avoid this entire "chevell" race thing cause I really don't care if they accuse me of spraying, people have been doing that since the car first went 10.89 back in 08 with ls6 heads and ls6 intake manifold....

Here is what I do care about...getting this valve float issue fixed so I can go back down there and run even better..

I keep telling these old timers and non believers that ls motors is where it's at! They turned the blind eye until their big block race car gets worked by a small block ls street car.

Btw, nice pass Brad. Keep doing your thing.

That particular chevelle is a stock weight street car that has run in the 9s n/a. Not a gutted out race car. Considering the 600+ lbs of weight difference I am not surprised the Camaro won. There is nothing wrong with being smart and using a lighter car but saying one engine type is better than another is foolish. A 4 cylinder Honda civic can be modified to outrun either of these cars. Does that make its engine better than a ls? No... To often small block guys forget their small CI disadvantage to a big block is nothing compared to a 4 clyinder disadvantage.

Nice improvement from the exhaust change by the way OP.

Lose ~600 pounds and you'll be close to low 10's too.

Silverz I believe your ET is correct but the timing system for mph is off in your lane...did you run in the same lane all night...never scene a car top half 21mph even a stock internal will do 23-24mph...and your times increments look good to me even for the 1/8 mile...

My guess you are around 129-130mph really in 1/4

Cant believe those guys think you are spraying. With your mods and weight its very believable you could hit 128-130MPH
