Exclamation Quicket 1/4 mile time

I just recently went to a TNT to see what my car would run. Its a 2001 camaro ss A4 109,000 miles with headers, cutout, lid and a tune everyhting else is stock has the factory 3.23 gears and street tires. my first pass i ran a 13.9 at 100MPH. My times changed a little the more passes i made 2nd run i went 14.1 at 96MPH. i mind you that i did nothing to the car before going down the track.what can i do to run a better time? i feel my car should be running in the lower 13s with all the mods any suggestions would help.

I am guessing this was on street tires and you got crappy 60 foot times but that would only be half the problem as 96-100 mph is a very low trap , lower than a stock ss should run. Trap speed indicates how much power you are making , you are down on power from a stock car.

This is generalizing above but you haven't given a lot of info to go off of.

Was it real hot out ?

Was this at a track way above sea level?

We're you running something other than premium fuel in the car?

Are the plugs, wires. Fuel filter, air filter recently changed, old,or unknown?

Did the car have plenty of time to cool down before running and between passes or was it heat soaked?

Was there extra weight in the car? Big stereo or wheels...

My daughters bone stock 4 door Buick regal gs trapped 96 for me v6 3800 sc your car should trap somewhere around 105 to 110 with what's on it for mods provided all the questions I listed are addressed in a manner to provide a successful track visit

Did you let off before the finish line on the 96 MPH run, or any other runs?

Even if his 60' sucked which im sure it wasnt good his mph is worse then most stock ls1 mph's. Give us some more info: track elevation, the tempature you raced in, humidity, have you gotten the car tuned yet. There isnt enough info here to even try to figure out whats going on.

I live in Tucson so my home track is SIR. And i also didnt add that my car is a convertible and yes it was on street tires i have been tuned already. It just doesnt make any since. i mean like you guys say and i know your not being rude but it could be driver error.

I agree that unless there's a lot of elevation and/or driver newness/traction issues, the car should be faster. All the incrementals or a time slip would help...
