First time to the track, Advice welcome
Hey everyone, Went to the track today and just looking for some feedback and advice on what you all think since im not quite as smart in this department.
My set up is mainly
01 z06
Trickflow 220 heads out the box
VRX5 cam
Fast 102 out the box/NW 102 tb
LG headers O/R X
Vararam w/ power duct
LS7 clutch and flywheel
Nitrous outlet plate(Dry 100 shot)
Stock tranny and diff
16" CCW drag pack
Made 455/414 on motor, 545/568 on 100 shot
Best pass on motor
60ft-1.98
330-5.08
861/8-7.67
1/8 mph-96.32
1/4-11.76
1/4 mph-120.06
Best pass on 100shot
60ft-1.86
330-5.03
1/8-7.54
1/8 mph-100.31
1/4-11.48
1/4 mph-125.42
I left the line between 3500-4000rpm just slipping the clutch and the 1.86 60ft was the best I got. the 1.86 60 ft I dropped the tire pressure to about 18psi. I have no idea what the DA was but I can tell you the sun was shining bright and the temp was about 90-95degrees all day.
Any other info needed just ask and I will try and answer. I had fun today no doubt, but that 10sec pass is what im looking for now and only trapping 125mph on spray kind of surprises me. Any advice on how to better the 60ft or opinions is greatly appreciated.

3.42 gears. plan to do the 3.90s when the diff goes kapoyyaaa. Im sure theres some time to be made in the shifts but they wont that bad and I know theres some time to be made with more seat time. The mph is what puzzles me. About 550rwhp only trapping 125 is off to me.

With your mods that second run should easily be done w/o the N2O. curious about your N2O setup, is it off the hit or do you have it set at a certain RPM..?

That being said did you check to see that it was working in full effect? Im not a Nitrous guy but have seen friends have small issues here and there, agreed as well that more seat time and you should see 10's no problem on the bottle! Sweet ride BTW!
edit: as far as the DA goes, go to Dragtimes.com, they have a DA calculator, and punch in the track, date and time etc.

It was actually the 1st time I sprayed my car today but I would say it was working in full effect, bottle was completely full and was around 1000psi. The seat time will net me a 10 atleast in theory but I just thought the trap would be higher. Thanks man, looks like your rides getting off the line pretty good. I just used that DA calculator and it says about the time I was running it was 90degrees outside and the DA was 2309feet(not sure what that means but ill go with it ha)

Well maybe you might have some suspension work to do..could you tell if it was a good hook, or little spin? As far as DA is concerned in short, the lower you are to sea level the better the car will do, (smaller number)and it changes with the weather, Here where we race, between June and Sept, we see THAT^ DA fairly regular

Im on a 26x11.5x16 Mickey ET street bias ply tire so it hooked decently but still had a little wheel spin. Im going to head back to the track soon and play around with the launch a little bit more and see what we can do. Its stock suspension. Sounds like this DA was not that great for racing.

3.90 should help a lot..its hard to 60 well when you have a street suspension setup and worried about breaking stuff..considering that you're doing very well..that same power with a stouter suspension/driveline would net you atleast mid 10s

Yeaa, Its bad when im ready for my diff to explode so I can have one built with the 3.90 gears. Im sure with better air, more seat time, and a good 60ft I can see 10s. I just need to figure out how to get the 60ft down to the 1.5 range.
