I'm going to be making a lot more power next year so we'll see how the single adjustables do. I'd spring for the doubles if you can especially with a manual car... Always nice to have the option to try different adjustments

I'd go with doubles in front and singles in rear.
The rear can be tricky to tune and takes a bit of experience to dial in. I usually recommend singles in back for people new to it so they only have to adjust compression. You can get lost very easily so it's best to keep it simple. You will use different settings for radials and slicks and changing track conditions. Keep in mind you also have the fine tuning adjustability with your launch rpm and your tire pressure.
By contrast, the fronts are much easier to tune and having the extra compression adjustability can make a difference, so having a dual up front should be beneficial IMO right out of the gate. Up front, the concept is also easier to grasp so it's less difficult to make a change and see it work from one run to the next.
One tip is to try your best to only change one thing at a time so you know exactly what worked or didn't work and you can go right back to where you were if your 60' increased. And I usually alter the setting by about 3 clicks when first dial in a setup to make sure there was enough change made.
Strange makes good mid level shocks which are typically typically all we need to drag race and sometimes more than we need.
For example, on my c5Z with 470hp (Mustang dyno) I run duals up front and stock leaf/shocks in the rear. If the car works don't be quick to change things unless your setup changes radically or you hp increases dramatically and then I would still only move slowly with suspension modifications.

I've been impressed with Phil's car for a long time. We are local and I've seen him make a lot of runs in the car and then drive home from the grove.
Looking forward to Chapter II. And you are even painting the hood now!

Hmm not sure. The velocity stack sits pretty low so I just ran it without a filter at the track. You might be able to cut/modify a filter so you can run one with the that lid on there all the time or put a screen on the velocity stack itself. I always just had a standard FTP lid and would switch it for that one at the track.
