Default Low 12 mods, mid 13 runs =(

Hey guys. So my car is just not running how it should. My modifications re as follows
- SLP LID/air scoop
- LTs w/ ORY and Gibson axle back
- Frost Tune
- Rebuilt 4L60E with shift kit
- Circle D 3200 Stall
- LCAs, LCA Relos, KYB AGX with SLP Springs, Bolt in 2 Pt SFC
- 3.73 Rear Gear w/ TA Girdle
So basically everything is new within the last 5000 miles. Car has 155k on it. My best time so far is 13.6 @ 102 w/ 8.65 1/8th mile and a 2.1 60 Foot. I am running not very good 275/40/18 tires on the back. I am going to the track tonight. i just got a set of 275/40/17 Nitto NT05R tires. So we will see how she does. But where do you think my car is not working out? And what can t do better. This is all very frustrating. Especially since my first pass last time I went 15.1 @ 101 mph with a 2.66 60 foot. And then it pulled the 13.6 @ 102. Makes no sense. HELP =(

What was the DA and elevation at this track? That mph is pretty low but track conditions could be part of it

The track is Lebanon Valley Speedway in NY. It is 630 ft above sea level. It was about 70 degrees. Not humid. So it was pretty decent conditions. The mph is what is confusing me so much. I have no CEL. And everything on the car is pretty tight.

Hmmm yeah that is a bit odd. In those condition I'd expect more like 106-108 mph at minimum. That Frost is a emailed tune right?

Frost tune is a mail order tune. I sent him my ECU, and he sent it back to me. I told him about all the modifications. I was just looking at my time slips. There is a 1.253 second difference between between my15 second pass and my 13 second pass. Both have similar mph. But the 60 foot difference was .505. So that is roughly two tenths faster in the quarter for every 1 tenth better in the 60. Still doesn't explain the mph though.

Spinning will skew the MPH.

Get some tires for the track #1,
Go around the water box #2,
Light burnout (3-5 seconds max) #3,
Stay at an idle until the last yellow then go WOT and hang on #4

Every .1 off your 60' will be about .2-.3 off your 1320'

That is what I am hoping. What do you think my 60 could potentially be with my modifications and 275/40/17 Nitto NT05r? That is the set-up I am running tonight.

a better 60 foot would give you better times. just learn how to launch and feather the pedal off the line. takes practice. do a nice burnout to heat those NT05Rs (about 5-10 seconds) and clean off debris. lower the rear tire pressure to like 25psi and lower if need be from there.

Even with a 2.1 60ft it's still trapping pretty low. Maybe it's tune or trans related

I wonder if pulling my air filter could help it. The car has new plugs and wires. But the MAF has 155k on it. And I am running a K and N filter. I guess we will find out tonight. The car also has a slight vibration above 45 mph that lasts up to 80mph. I have poly motor and trans mounts. Of course I have read everything from "that's normal" to check driveshaft balance and u joints. The u-joints are new. So I am hoping its just normal. But I guess that could potentially hurt ETs.

weather/DA could also be an issue when he ran that 13.6@102 w/2.1x sixty footer.
worth it to check the areas around the driveshaft. like HCI2000SS, could be a number of things but if it runs similar to previous times then something is screwy.

So I just went outside on my lunch break and had one of my co-workers press my gas pedal all the way to the floor. I noticed that the Butterfly in my TB was only opening about 80%. It was still 1/2 inch away from the bump stop. I adjusted the cable so it opens all the way to the stopper now. I wonder if that could have been part of my problem. What do you guys think?

Wouldn't it short shift if it was only 80% throttle?

^yes so the blade only open at 80% and not fully would also shift earlier than the 100% RPM pending on how the frost tune is setup.

Just got back from the track. I did 5 passes. The slowest time I ran was a 13.6 again. The fastest was a 13.488. 60 foot times were consistently in between 1.81-1.899. mph was once again only 101. Even on my 13.488 pass. I noticed that my rear brakes are hot. Like very hot. Untouchably hot. I wonder if I have dragging rear calipers. I am going to tear into it tomorow..but basically I can put the car in neutral on a slight incline and it won't roll. I also have about a 15 mile stretch or straight road before my house, and when I pulled in my driveway the rear brakes were still too hot to touch. The fronts were cool to the touch, like you would expect. However, if I put the car on jack stands I can turn the rear wheels but only barely. Could this be the cause of my top end. Or lack of top end?

Absolutely could be your issue, there is definitely something going on.

Could be the e brake sticking also.

And the saga continues. Just got to work. I checked my rotors on the rear. They were both cold to the touch. And I can put the car in neutral and easily roll it. I am still going to pull em apart tonight just to check. I also was just looking over my time slips from last time. I am definitely loosing it on the big end. Like after the 1/8th mile. Or possibly even a little before. My best 1/8th was 8.616 @ 82.29. Last week My 1/8th was a tenth slower but I was going 1.5 mph faster. DA last night was good. Is there something that I am missing that could cause a random loss of top end.
