Default What times should I run with headers, gears, and intake?

Hey guys, question for yall. I have a 2002 Ws6 6spd and I was wondering what kind of times yall think I’d run in the quarter with what I’ve done to it. Since I’ve bought it I’ve done 3.73 gears, speed engineering headers and y pipe to borla catback, and a 93 tune and it dynoed at 335whp 350 torque, and then since the dyno I added an slp Flopac intake so I’m assuming around 10 or so mode whp since the dyno but wondering what yalls thoughts were on that setup. Thanks

What does it weigh with you in it?
What have you got for tires? Suspension?

I haven’t done any weight reduction on it so prolly a good 3650 or so. Tires are good I hook up pretty well, newer general g max’s. Suspension like shocks and control arms and stuff are newer but not anything performance like UMI or BMR

You should trap every bit of 110 mph+

I'll relate what I've managed.
Our weight is similar. I've scaled at 3520-3650 lbs w/ driver.
Gen 1 SBC 353 CID, auto trans with a 3.06 1st gear and 2500 stall converter. 3.73 rear gears. ET Street bias ply slick 26" x 9.5".
Best time at a sea level track was 12.45 @ 108.6 MPH. 60' was 1.74.
It should have been a 400 CHP engine but because of the converter and trans gear ratio split, it wasn't running in the ideal operating window. RPMs were from stall speed to 6000 with the 1-2 shift dropping to 3500. It's not making a lot of steam down there.
That's purely a street car. Stock shocks and struts. I do have drag bags in the rear coils to help with the launch.
I can guess one thing about your car, on street tires, you're not going to hook. Even on a glued track that stick shift will take some finesse with the clutch. Even my little pile of parts suffered in the 60' as the tires aged. Best 60' was 1.7 flat. That eventually ballooned to 1.9x.
With your dynoed HP, I'll say you'll trap better than I did. Can you go 110? Or better? That's the HP doing it's job. The ET will suffer if you're spinning. Good traction ought to get you into low 12's I'd think.
The density altitude of the day will play a significant part too if like I am now, are racing at a 3500' DA. That makes for a slower car.

Yep. Will likely be a 12.8 @ 109.5 with a 1.91 60 ft.

Thats my best guess lol.

Good air and a 1.7-1.8 60ft and you should be mid 12's. Bad air and bad 60 and you'll run low to mid 13s

Whatever you do, do not dump the clutch on a 6 speed with a stock rear end. I have seen a few guys green about it and have exploded them on the starting line. Slip it on take off.

Good advice do not dump clutch, more slipping it on launch.
With those exact same mods with the exception of 4.10 gears and slicks and skinnies I was running 12.2 @ 113
and that’s with a 98 ls1 and ls1 intake. There was so much more I could have got out of that setup.

I would expect mid-high 12s on street tires and lower with a drag setup.

also knowing how to “drive” the car is worth the most

Our stock 02 WS6-6spd ran a best of 12.75 at just under 110 mph. Full weight with bolt on SFCs, nitro drag radials and a LS Motorsports lid at Steele, Al in November a long time ago. This was achieved as others suggested 2k rpm and rode clutch out then wot. With me in the car 3,660 lbs.

With your mods and a good tire you will be in the mid to low 12's. With a street tire be careful.

Have fun and let us know how it goes..
