IHRA Bracket Finals-made it down to 6 cars.
I am pretty happy to have made it down to 6 car at the bracket finals.
Bad thing is I broke on the starting line in the 7th round. I think it is the converter. I have all 3 gears but not underload. I staged the car and tried to get on the converter and she went straight to 7,000 rpms. My lights came down and I let her rip. NOTHING!!!! but hitting the rev limiter. Hell, I didn't even brake the starting line beams. Even worse is the other guy cut a .090 light. My 2 lights in the prevous rounds where .003 and .006.
Oh well thats bracket racin.
I will get her fixed. I have a big race on the 29th & 30th and of course the Thunder Shootout on the 6th & 7th of Nov.
Thanks again to my wife (Kayle), Madman(JBZ Race Cars) and Thunder Racing for all ya'lls help. I couldn't of done it without ya

It sucks to brake any time but in the finals it really had to blow. What was some of your time slips?
Congrats on going that far. That's a lot of rounds.
Also, congrats on a great year in racing. Seems like every year you step up a notch. Next year track champion and a race in the "race of champions."
See ya at Thunder (I hope ) Coach, are you still racing with us other 10 second car in our "grundge" match on Friday night?

Daum Coach, sorry to here the bad luck, I've had my share also Man I tell you were just plain killing the tree too, those reaction times are deadly Look forward to meeting you and the gang at Thunder.
By the way, what converter was it and how many passes do you figure it had ? You do alot of racing so I'm sure it had a ton on it.

Any idea if Jim Cimarolli (gray 68 or 9 Nova) was still in the final 6 with you ?

Thanks man. Cimarolli won. He is also who cut a .090 light in the 7th round against me.
Thanks everyone for the kind words.
The tranny is a turbo 350 with over 200 runs on her and the convert is a Tranz-King with well over 350 passes on her.
Madman well get the tranny out tomorrow and off to tranz-king for the vert and Langford trans for a well need freshen/repair-up. About a month ago we did pull the tranny pan and changed the fuild.

Damn Coach, its a rare occasion for Jim to cut .090 light. That was your race for the taking. I guess it was Jims lucky day. I dont care how good you are, it always seems like you gotta have some luck to win.

Couch ,Sorry to hear about the bad luck . I was a little nervous when I thought I was going to have to race you in round 3.
I bet when you get the convertor back the hot rod will be faster and more consistant, and that coupled with 003 and 006 reaction times is DEADLY
See you at Lonestarraceway Oct 29/30

See ya on the 29th & 30th.
Yes sir a lucky round or 2 is usually needed. You have to have alittle of this in every bracket race if you are going to win.
Tranny is out. It will go to Langfords in the morning. The convert will be at tranz-king in the afternoon. Hope to have fixed and ready to go by Tuesday night.

Good Job! Coach!
Glad to meet you out there.
I went out in the second round
Dialed a 7.65 and the darn thing ran a 7.647
Was your 60' times off? Mine was off big time.
Best light I cut at the event was a .0003
