New PB tonite 9.68 @ 139 N/A FMS 408cid LS1
Just got home from the track. Went out to the Friday Test & Tune night to do a few shake down runs with my New FMS 408 motor. I only made a couple passes, here's my best and last pass of the night:
60' : 1.321
330 : 3.959
1/8 : 6.159
MPH : 111.51
1000: 8.066
1/4 : 9.686
MPH : 139.88
Not sure what the DA was but weather was clear with temps around 68*. I said before I ran tonite, if I can run anything in the 9.6x range I would be very happy. I had a few 9.8xs with spinning 1.49 60's. The track prep was crap and there was a ton of street cars there. I cut the 1.32 60' right after they reprepped the track of course. I didn't get to shoot any video because I forgot my camera at home but I will be racing next Sat Dec 11, and will have a dedicated camera man.
My raceweight all night was 3365#, I got a few mods I'm hoping do over the winter break to get the raceweight down, I would like to try and kill about 200# off the car somehow, try to get the hotrod down into the 9.40s range and give the LS1tech Prostock Class some good competition.
I can't say enough how please I am with this little 408 motor. Even with my FAT raceweight, I'm almost running down there were those other 434ci SR cars like the SAM car etc is running.
I'll keep ya'll posted on my progress.

NICE Lee...geez and thats in Flordia weather!
By the looks of it
-69 deg
-54 %
-30.08 hum for a DA of approx +670
Man ,you need to come on back to LA for some good negative DA Just think what she will do when you lose 200lbs and add the intake

In the upper 30's here.
BTW why is your car so heavy? Do you still have items you can take out?

Current RW = 3365
Me = 220
Car Alone = 3145
Car is heavier than the 346 because of the est 100# penalty from the iron block. So deduct that and my car would be 3045# with the standard aluminum block.
I have most all the free mods done and just about all the $ ones, tubular kmember, a-arms, pin on hood, light weight carpet, racing brakes etc.
The things I know are hurting my car is I have a mild steel 10 point cage, not chromoly. I've a 8 point mild steel cage in the car for years and just added the halo and down bars to complete the 10 point cage. I'm running a TH400 which is a pretty heavy tranny. I have a steel drive shaft etc. Full stock interior panels etc, but only 1 drivers seat.
Things I am thinking about:
Lighter weight drivers seat
Remove ABS and put in manual brakes
Change to a 4" aluminum drive shaft
Light weight axles
replace some interior parts with lighter ones, ie door skins etc
Speedglass windows
Replace my rear firewall that seperates me from my fuel tank and battery with lighter materials
Possibly replace the 10p cage with chromoly
Start working out again and get back to 195 from 220 I am now.
I believe right now I would benefit the most from the speed glass windows, the weight savings from the glass and window motors etc comes to roughly +100# right now. Should be pretty easy to find another 100# from other little things. Heck if I get back into shape thats like 25# right there
Gunna be busy over the winter season.
