I'm not getting defensive, just trying to make you happy.

Yes that applies to the bottom end also, even the rod bolts.

Damn, I assumed you guys had arp rod bolts in there!!! You guys are lucky nothing's come apart yet!!! I mean ****, with the rpm you must be turning with those huge cams, that's crazy!!! My stock motor lasted a while, but she finally got hurt not too long after adding the spray, and it was only a 100 shot, spun a rod bearing. Thing is, I don't know if it was from the nitrous or from all the high reving from having the cam in there for about 20k - 30k miles and lots of drag strip use (she had somewhere around 70,000 miles on her when she finally let go, not positive exactly how much, cuz the odometer hasn't gone past 47,xxx since the turbo 400 went in almost 2 years ago now)!!! Also, maybe it's cuz I still drive the car on the street a lot, not a daily, but she gets driven a lot and my cruising rpm on the highway is like 3400 - 3500 rpm at around 70 - 75 mph with the turbo 400, 3.73's, and 28" tires. My shift point with my little 228 cam was 6700 on motor and 6500 on the spray, but I was planning on spraying more, just wanted to get everything dialed in on the smaller shot before upping it, so I had my rev limiter at 7500 and window switch off pill at 7000 in case I needed to run it out and watched the tach fly over 7000 rpm a lot during burnouts before shifting out of first to second and third. But it's all good, cuz now i'm building the motor, and she's gonna fly!!! I've been dreaming about when it's all done and running her down the track every night!!! I can't wait to get her back together, just waitin on parts!!!!

Actually, I don't know if Keith is running aftermarket Rod bolts or not.
I was speaking for my car.I guess the 2001 cars had better rod bolts.
500runs at 7k on each shift and counting.

It's going to be a sad day when my factory head bolts come out.

Yeah, ****, I definately didn't think I was gonna spin a bearing, the main thing I was worried about was the head bolts and gaskets cuz of the spray!

My motor is a 99 so I had crappy rod bolts stock.. I have ARP rod bolts now.

I don't daily drive my car but it is setup to drive on the street.. I have street wheels/tires and mufflers..

I ordered a torque arm from alston today, It should be here on thursday..

I will be looking to go racing again this sunday.. I have a few things in mind to try to duplicate the 1.31 60' and hopefully see if I can hit a lower 10.3..

Thanks for all your support!

I'll update my website as soon as I have a few moments of free time. The mods list on the car is really quite basic.. Intake, exhuast, trans, rear, wheels, tires, suspension... just all the normal boltons (every one of them).. and weight reduction.

Hmmm..I do have a TH350\converter\carbon shaft hanging around.

You guys need to remember that my car is an M6 at 3250 lbs with a motor set up for nitrous. You can tell that my 136.8 MPH shows the power, just hard to get the ET with my type of setup.
With the cam you just sent me! I can't wait to see what's going to happen! I should be ready late next week! Congrats to all of you!!

Wish I could have been there, congrats again. You were pretty pumped when you called me.

To the skeptics, you might want to really look at the numbers. Keith and Sean both dynoed around 415rwhp cam only thru open headers. That's pretty consistent. Keith is maybe 150 lighter, but He also has like a 8" 5200 stall compared to Sean's nitrous converter. All in all, the numbers are all in line with reality. I was there when Keith went low 11's, and then 10.9 that one day. I rode down and did some spotting and just supported a friend.

I think we are past the point in the community where we immediatley put on the skeptic hat. After all, most of the longtimers know each other and frankly talk on the fone too.

Let me know when the torque arm comes in, that one you have now is ready for the dumpster!
