I believe there was one twin turbo guy who ran a 9 sec pass on stock internals, dont quote me on that though. Other than that, I have not heard of any.

im just wondering, because i ran a 10.50 at e/town last year, and before upsetting anyone, my mods are 250 p/injection/nos,afr heads, comp cam, freddie brown built a/tranny,3000 s/s,390 rear, dte brace,q2 shocks. since then i added a vigilante 4000 s/s, i used to hit nos out of the hole on 315 drag radials, and car would squirm, but hook. since adding 4000 s/s i now lift r/s tire, and burn 100 ft of rubber without hitting nos. i cant explain it but car is double animal. any imput.

don't expect more than a couple passes like that on stock internals. can you say timebomb? Good luck if you do though

Not yet, but I'm sure someone will soon. With a little spray Magnus could have done it no problem.

01Z ran a 9.6 something and his entire motor is stock inside except for a cam. That was done on a 150 shot with stock heads, stock intake manifold and stock short block.

There's several guys also running in the 9's with a stock shortblock with nitrous.

There are several people running mid tens down to 10.4's with the only engine mods to their cars being a cam and bolt ons, still with stock untouched heads and short blocks with NO nitrous or power adders.

If you're bringing it up because you feel you may have one of the fastest LS1's with a stock short block, you've got quite a ways to go to be competitive. With the mods your car has, you'd have to run around a 9.3 or so to claim you had the fastest stock short block car.

There are a handfull of 9 second, stock-shortblock cars.

All it takes is a light car, a good suspension setup, and a moderate amount of power.

Wait, you say stock internals but you listed heads/cam as part of your mods, did you mean stock bottom end (I've always considered heads and cam as internal mods, I could be wrong)? There's a few stock bottom end guys in the 9's, one of them I've seen run locally (Next).

I have only seen 3 people post running 9's on a stock bottom end. 01Z (9.64), another guy with a 9.64 and next (eric) with 9.78. All run nitrous. I'm hoping I'll be next with my winter mods, but the SS isn't ready for the track yet.

There is a couple of 10 second head or head/cam cars in the 10's but none (to my knowledge) doing 9's.

Light weight, damn good suspension, and the wellingness to brake something to go faster.

IMHO I suggest you focus on tuning the suspension. Sounds like you're making great power, but you really need to get it to the ground.

Sean (01Z) definitely has the sick the times . I think everybody is gonna be surprised when Navy David gets to the track. Now if he could just find a DA under 3000
