Where would you recommend settin them at? Also, I know the stock gauge isn't supposed to be accurate, it's just that it used to be lower, so i'm just goin by how it used to be, that it got higher, ya know?

Just try 5 deg on both and see if that changes it. I had mine set too low at one time and the aluminum block seamed to like a little more heat.

Yes, Im still waiting on my heads. The new motor is ready to go then. The whole car has had every wire ripped out and was completely rewired with the BigStuff3 in there. New fuel system, some cage changes along with some ride height adjustments and the chute are done too. Possibly will make Cordova. Oh and I got engaged so that put a little sress on the $$$$$$$$$$$$$. Hows yours?

congrats Devon! Glad to hear you got some runs on the new combo done, and I see I'll need the juice to even stay in front of you N/A! Good luck getting her dialed in and into the 10s on the motor, which based on the mph should happen.

Thanks dude, definately see 10's in her, even in the shitty weather we got! I'm gonna mess with my pinion angle a little, maybe back it off a bit and try -.5 to -1 instead of -1.5 to -2 since pretty much everything is solid and she's a bit lighter now, maybe she's not flexing as much, plus i'll be gettin my rear swaybar and lca relocation brackets in soon, so if I can get that 60' down, 10's on motor all day long!

Congrads on the runs! Hats off to the tuner Let me know when you spray it! Nice to see some track numbers out of latest 2.5 heads.
Keep me updated with your Bradenton runs.

It's not overheating or anything, but it's just higher than it used to be and it's startin to bug me, don't want to ruin anything, ya know! So what do you think, do I need to set the fans lower, should I take the t-stat out, is it fine where it's running? Let me know what ya think, thanks dude!

First off congs on the new times. With the 90/90 combo, some better weather, and a real track 10.8 and 125+ MPH are in your future.
Next try changing the fan temps 5-10 degrees. The 99 and up oil guage is lame and is really only accurate if your overheating.
It might just read higher because of the heat outside.
If the fans dont help just chalk it up as a POS design by GM.
Sounds like your gonna have a fun setup NA and on Juice.
Let us know when you go to Bradenton maye we can have a TEA vs TEA match.
C ya man.

Hahahah, thanks dude, will do! And I changed the fans 5 degrees cooler and I thought it worked at first, but then I went on a long drive last night and it got back where it was, gonna throw atap on her and see where she's actually at, and if she's gettin too hot, i'm gonna pull the thermostat and see if that helps at all, and if not, then maybe I need a bigger radiator.

Saw that you said it went back up. Atap is the right choice for really finding out. As mentioned by JZ, are you also paying attention to the outside temp to see if that's a factor?

Yeah, it's doin it even late at night when it's cooler out, I just went and bought some more dexcool, was gonna pull the thermostat out and see what happens, but i'm gonna hold off till I put atap on it on the next trip up to west palm to see where she's actually at. If she is running hot, would pulling the thermostat out help at all?

Running more water than antifreeze will actually lower the temp.

Really? We put 1 antifreeze, 1 water, then it took about another 1/2 antifreeze or so.

Yes, water will run colder. And BTW, you're not allowed to run antifreeze in a RACE car - that's the hardest stuff to clean off the track.

Damn, had no idea! Maybe i'll drain some of the dexcool water mixture out and put in more water and see what happens. And I can't run just water can I, i'm not a full out race car, i still drive her on the street, so it would probably be better to still run some antifreeze, right?

yup this is true and crazy to think about for many of us strete car guys! my buddy bought a high profile 9 second camaro out of TX and we were VERY surprised when we notice no antifreeze in the motor! just water!

Makes sense, with water only. Anti freeze is in there for one reason......ANTI freezing capability.
