Talking Took the Mach1 to the track

I went to the local 1/8 mile track tonight to do some test and tune.. I was mainly working on my 60fts.. My suspension is 100% bone stock so I was mainly working with just the tire pressure.. My best time tonight was a 7.857@87.57mph with a 1.68 60ft.. I did get a better 60ft later on in the night with a 1.649 60ft.. Its not my best times or 60 but with the new set up I have I'm still getting use to it.. I just put a TKO tranny in and they are a little harder to shift then the stock one but they are a hell of alot stronger.. I thought it ran pretty decent with a stock motor and suspension with just alot of bolt on's and drag rims and tires.. What do you guys think???

Thanks Dan

IMHO I think that's good considering your mods and the air you're running in.

I wouldn't say that.. I'm trapping almost 88mph in the 1/8.. Thats not just about my 60ft.. The last time I was running the 1/4 I was trapping 112mph and that was many mods ago...

I do on my street tires and it runs 8.1's @88.5mph.. I trap higher mph with the street tires on.. And why would I want to try to pull a 2.0 60ft, that just sucks... I'm pulling 1.6's now and I don't really like that very munch.. So I need to so some rear suspension work to get down to some mid 1.5's.. I think upper and lower control arms and adjustable shocks should do it..

Ditto.

With 1.6 60's no wonder. Your right about how you've mentioned in previous theads how your car doesn't have "a lot" of power. It's all in how you've got it set-up. It's nothing special.

Look at my MPH on my bone stock LS1 in the 1/8. That was the FIRST time to the track with the car and my FIRST time driving a LS1 6sp. Your only trapping 3-4 more MPH in the 1/8 than my stock LS1.

This is by no means trying to start a BS LS1 v.s. The World topic. The point is, if I swapped in a 12blt/9" with some 4.11's, a good clutch, and some slicks, I can almost guarantee you I'd be right there with you as far as ET/MPH goes. And I wouldn't have any "real" mods either.

Just proves that it is all about the 60...

Come on man!...you kow your 60 is awesome for the mods you have. My SS went 8.5 @ 86mph with a 2.1 60...see my point now. 1 mile slower and .7 sec slower than yours.

I wasn't at race weight the other day.. I was at full weight with just my Weld draglites big a littles on.. My race weight is around 3380 lbs with driver but yesterday I was around 3500 with driver... I thought the times were pretty good but I have been faster and will go faster once I take some weight out..

those are good times for a m5 tranny, my car ran (when it was a bolt on car ) ran 8.0's @90 mph @3535lbs. my 60' was 1.93- 2.0. so you see what a difference the 60' makes.

I have no clue.. Last year I was trapping 88mph with less mods and stock rims up front.. But it was in cold weather so that probably had alot to do with it and I also had some weight reduction out, so the car was alot lighter.. The other day I was trapping 86.2mph at full weight with my heavy after market rims on there.. So I picked up close to 2mph with the welds on..

Did you go to Kennedale? I was there just a couple of weeks ago. It's hard to get great times with it being 95+ friken degrees outside and 60% humidity! My SS is "pratically" stock and I ran a 9 flat consistantly at about 81-82 mph. My 60' time sucked though...i guess I also could have lowered the PSI of the back tires...I was running them at 30-31...should have dropped them into the lower 20's....probably would have gotten into the 8's.

Yea its all about the 60 foot times. Check my sig. I went the same mph as you did and only went a 8.40 in the 1/8. I have no suspension mods and far less mods than u. Dam u are leaving hard. So now I know what my car is capable of.
