Default New Best For 99% Stock LS1 6sp...

My previous best was a 2.12 60ft with a 8.68 @ 84 and a 13.30 @ 106 about 3 weeks ago. Air was bad and my car wasn't that cool.

Last night I went back to Richmond Dragway and made one pass for the night. Temp was low 60's and humid. wasn't too bad. Car temp was aroun 190. The numbers from the slip look like this...

60ft- 2.18

1/8- 8.69 @ 85.78

1/4- 13.24 @ 108.56

I'm not making excuses, but here's how the run went. Decent leave, broke traction on the 1-2 shift, foot slipped off the gas for a second on the 2-3 shift, and a clean 3-4 shift.

All things considered I think she might have had a .teen in her last night with a 100% clean run.

This rear blows donkey *****. It's plainly obvious by the MPH last night that I could be running mid 12's easy with a good launch. A 12blt/9", some ET Streets, and a 4-4,5k clutch dump and I'd be money all day long

12sec potential with a 20sec rear...

Sorry to hear about your troubles with the rearend of the car. We have all been there and done that!

You will have a 12 second ride soon enough.

Sounds like a good plan to me,get that 60ft down and your there.

Good luck.

This Saturday my slow turd ran 12.5@ 106 with a 1.61 60ft on drag radials with a rear end from a M6 . Got a 7.8@85 in the 1/8th.

Gotta love a A4 with a good convertor.

Yup, see that's what I'm talking about. I've got the same MPH as you in the 1/8 and MORE than you in the 1/4 and I'm like .7 slower, lol. A good rear, some tires, and a nice clutch dump and I should be seeing simular 60's/ET's as you I would think...

Thanks!

What difference would a m6 rear give you besides different gears????That is a nice time for just a vert and some dr's....what kind of TC do you have?? I'll be putting a ssf3500 in next week, hopefully ill put down some better #'s.

I'd think so! Nice times and mph, get something to handle the power back there and find the 12's in a big way!

M6 rear is a cheap/easy way to put 3.42 gears in an auto. I watched Dave pull off that 12.5 run. Too bad he sucks at bracket racing! MT DR's on my stock 6 speed netted me 12.774 for the quickest Saturday. That's launching at 4500rpm and easing into the clutch. Made 15 passes and drove home the 60 or so miles with no problems. The clutch did take a bit of a beating though. After launching hard I could smell it getting hot.

1 red light and i will never live it down . Hey i went 5 rounds.
That's ok Wade,i'm still quicker than you .

Yes ,the only difference in the rear diffs is the gears and when mine started making nasty noises i replaced it with a low mileage unit out of a stock car.

My vertor is a Yank PT4000,i have had 3 so far.
VIG3600
Yank SS4000
and Yank PT4000,the PT is the best in MY car,so far for 60ft and shift extension. Alittle loose around town, but i don't mind at all.
I have Hooker headers and Borla exhaust too,but since putting the Headers on it has ran goofy.
I think it needs to be reprogrammed by something other than my hand held Predator.

I dropped .7 in the 1/8th and .7 in the 1/4(? should be better in the 1/4)
from a convertor swap, with stickier tires too.

Good luck,it was the best thing i did to my car other the Nitrous.
I am still looking for that 10 sec bottle run! On the bottle,I have pulled 1.5 60ft's with a tire off the ground before, not real high, but still pretty cool to me anyway.

But I'm still STOCK save for drag radials! You should get some MT's They hook like crazy. You were spinning so much off the line it wasn't funny with your Nittos. Summit still lists the MT's in 275/40/17 for about $177 per tire. Not sure why your Discount guy couldn't get them.

I'm not sure either

The only time i had traction issues was when i tried to play with the spray!
1 run i did not spin too bad,was a 75 shot and i ran 11.7@116 with a weak 1.7 60ft. I really babied it out of the hole.
Then put the 150 jets in....

And Ya,then it was crazy. I will save that for the E/T streets.

Ya your stock, and you did a real good job of driving that thing too .
But you better start modding that thing or forever be behind me,and if ya get too close. I may turn the bottle on and spray ya

I actually think I'm gonna keep it stock drivetrain and work on the chassis and lightening it with a tubular K member and A arms as well as rear parts. I need a 12 bolt that will handle 5K clutch dumps to launch. I still think there's more ET in the stock motor. I just gotta get it planted!

Nice times, and I agree with you about the cheap rearend. I had almost identical times to yours, except I was like .5 mph higher (LOL). So close to 12's, yet so far. Hope to see you in the 12's.
