seems like you're spinning alot.....you just gotta find that sweet spot where the car doesn't bog off the line too bad w/ least spin *** possible. i can only manage 2.15s on my street ties. that's launching at 3k. dont completely dump the clutch, just feather it untill ya feel you're hooked well enough to nail it.

Try launching at idle. Then start working your way up from there.

It's pretty obvious that your launching is killing your ET. With street tires, what works for me (consistantly cutting 1.9x) is to raise the rpm to ~3,500 rpm and make sure clutch is eased to a point it is almost engaged while waiting for the lights, and then let out the clutch slowly (feathering it) while keeping at the rpm and once tires gets bit of grip, I go wide open throttle.

How do you guys cut 1.9-2.0 sec 60' times on street tires?
My theory is that the dudes that claim 1.8 and 1.9 sec. 60' times either:
A) have suspension mods, like drag springs;
B) have gears, like 3.73's or 4.10's;
C) are b'sing to their hearts content;
D) have sick track prep on the day, and think it is the norm;
E) All of the above.

My best thus far is a putrid 2.2 sec. 60' on street tires, and that was frying the clutch off the line (Slipped it a grip). You shouldn't be cutting 2.5 sec. 60' times though. Don't over bog or spin the crap out of your tires off the line. Your car should run mid to high 12's from what i'm seeing. By some BFG DR's and line lock. Provided you don't blow up the rearend, I guarantee you won't spin the car off the line, cause I sure as **** can't.

try the old 2000 rpm's dump then floor it method
you will cherp the tires the bog sould be good for a 2.0-2.2 60"
get a little better can get 1.9 out of it. I HATE slipping the clutch

That absolutely is not the case. A 1.9 60' on stock rubber is very
good. 2.0 60's are routine for a good driver.

Unfortunately, all of your woes are due to driver error. You'd run
a 12.6 - 12.7 or so on a 1.8 short time. You should be trapping higher
as well given your mods.

Dunno, been to California Speedway and LACR a busload of times (well over 10), and I don't see people cutting 1.8-1.9 sec. 60' times on street tires (meaning not drag radials or slicks). I make it a habit of asking people what they ran, and what mods they have, especially since I usually only average 3-4 runs at Speedway in 8 hours. Experience has shown to me 1.8-1.9 sec. 60' doesn't happen at the track I go to with F Bodies on street tires. I'm sure E Town or some other sick track with EXTREMELY good track prep would make it possible for such times, but I have yet to see it.

I couldn't agree more with all of the above.

I have pulled several 1.9ish 60fts on street tires. 2.0s are all day long, just a routine

When I ran the car stock i got a 13.5 out of it with a 2.2-2.3 60', so I doubt it was completly driver error. It was probably 38-40 degrees this last time I went out. Im not sure if that had anything to do with my poor 60' times or not. Like i said I was launching @ 1200-1300 rpm's. It wasnt bogging, I would come out of the hole at half throttle it would spin for about a sec then hook. About 3/4's thru fist I would go to full throttle, shift to 2nd spin a little but nothing to bad. I had to short shift at about 5800-5900 rpm's cause of the stock tune still. Also I had to shift into 5th so im sure that was slowing me down a bit. It was at moroso in west palm btw.

If you're cutting 2.5 60's, then I must assume that you're not
powershifting either. You're losing 3/4 of a second in the first
60 feet. If you're not powershifting, you're losing almost a total
of 1 second in the 1/4 mile.

Honestly...it's driver errror based on your slip. No offense meant of course.

The tires were yokohama avs es100. I had the tire pressure at 36 psi. I plan on getting the crane/vinci handheld tuner this week. What kind of suspension mods would you guys recomend to help me hook up?

Those are the EXACT same tires I have. I don't run them at 36 psi though. I normally run 32 cold in the front, and 30 cold in the back. I have had great luck with these tires. I 60fted a 1.84 with my previous car (a4) with these same tires (I mean "the actual" same tires/wheels) they have seen lots of track time and abuse on the street, I am extremely pleased with them.
