Default WTB: Traction!

Hey everybody,

Just got back from the track today

first time since my mods, before that I only took this car out once. As usual, being a manual I had a great launch, shitty ones with wheel spin, even some wheep hop

I heated these Nittos up like crazy and still spun.

<3500RPM i had wheel hop
4000 seemed to work best, still some wheel spin, either hooked or spun like crazy
>4000 spin

now I was more or less just dropping the clutch, I let it off with my foot but I tried not to slip it too much so the Spec 5 wouldn't over heat

all and all I would have like to have seen better E.T'S but I was told my MPH is good for 11.90's-12.10's which is good enough for me, its just a street car

R/T .533 (a zero light, so .533 isn't perfect or nuttin)
60' 1.917
330 5.419
1/8 8.296
MPH 87.20
1000 10.747
1/4 12.789
MPH 111.12

1.843 was my best 60' for the day

thanks guys

are you shifting the car @ 5,500 or something? wtf? that car should HAUL *** with 400+rwhp on a mustang dyno.

if you're serious about shifting the car between 5,500-6k...wtf dude?

shift that bitch at 7k, i GUARANTEE you will stomp a mudhole in your old times (trap speed at the very least) and walk the mfer dry.

the t-rex needs some rpm to breathe...it really shines between 6 and 7k.

Yea dude I picked up 1 mph in the 1/8th and 2 in the 1/4 just by going from shifting at 6500 to 6800 and my cam isn't near as big as yours. Also I put a 9" in it at the same time which is heavier. If you go from shifting at 5500-6000 to about 6500-7000 you have going to see a huge difference.

Oh and btw on the kit don't spin the car past about 6400 or 6500.

At least. I was trapping 113 before headers and ORY. I trapped 118+ before a tune with the cam. Spin the bitch to 6800! Where does it peak at? You want to shift about 200rpms after the peak at least.

Even if you RW is 3700lbs you should trap at least 117. Even shifting at 6k it should be much more than 111 with that RWHP. Someone is pulling your chain on the numbers maybe.

I barely put down more that you. If I shift at 6k, I only get 116mph, if I shift at 6500, I put down between 118 and 119mph. My cam is supposed to be good to 6800, but my stock injectors are already maxed at 6500 and I have the weak rod bolts so I stick to shifting at 6500. I have had no issues with my stock lifters at all.
