I was wondering what this race would be like

my buddy has a 97 ss with the gm 864 cam ...1.5 roller rockers....ported lt1 heads...11:1 compression borla catback stock exhaust manifolds stage 3 clutch

i have a 99 ta with slp lid...free mods...flowmaster 40 muffler....et street tires and that's it

i was just wondering how it will all turn out. I am hoping for someting around 13.5....maybe a 13.4 with a really good launch..i don;t know if that will hang or not...i know he has a 6speed and thoes can be very hard to launch with regualr street tires on

what do you guys think??

Is he a good driver? I've seen a LT1 w/ hot cam A4 3.73 run 12.7@109

i would consider him average....i can;t see him getting a 60ft better then a 2.05...maybe not any better the 2.1

yea i use to have an lt1 with full exhasut 3.73 and the hotcam kit with a good tune and i ran 8.20 in the 8th with drag radials

i really think not having any headers and the stock y-pipe with stock cats will kill the performance of that car

i have a lt1 cam only gears and stall no n20 and it tuns 12.1x on motor...id assume hes lying about the cam and stuff if he doesnt have exhaust manifolds...and the 11:1 compression probably aint true, they are 10.6 factory adn the impala lt1 are 11:0 and probably telling you that its 11:1 to make it sound better

well the heads are shaved...and he has flat top pistions...i know it's all true because i helped him put the motor in....i saw everything....i know he has that cam...and i know he's only running stock cats and exhaust manifolds...i even bolted them on the car


your really running 12.1s with cam stall and gears? no headers?

Well his cam is small, he's not taking advantage of the heads with the 1.5 roller rockers and the stock manifolds are very restrictive. I think it will run poorly, but he should still be able to give you a run.
