Maggie: I am going to have to disagree with your comment, "ET starts when the tree goes green not when the car leaves." this is not true you can sit at the lights as long as you want and you will run the same time, although your reaction time will be terrible. You will see alot of cars that are doing shake down runs do this just to make sure they aren't rushing their launch in order to get a good clean run..

30mph and 4 seconds for me on the big end. So...a 6.80 @ 102mph 1/8th would
give me a 10.80 @ 132mph in the 1/4 damned near every time.

You can jump forward, stop and sit there and the timers are counting, you could run a 1 hour pass at 151mph if you wanted

I cant see even a couple fouled plugs slowing you down 4.5 seconds in the 1/8 and still running 100mph so the car had to burp pretty bad off the line or something and then got going..

Ok, so that does make more sense, now that we know. My slow car runs 125 in the 1/8 and 159 in the 1/4. So obviously he had major issues early. I also have a high 12 sec slip somewhere that ran 149 in the 1/4. I was at a crappy track in Ind. and blew the tires off, 3 second 60' got back in it, ran a hi 12.
So as it was said, fast cars have launch issues. It would be cool to see the slip, or the face on the guy in the car in the next lane when he blew by.

yes, you are correct I miss-spoke myself...I was refering to going green as opposed to 'foul' or red or breaking at the tree and not going at all.
Sorry, I tend to use the vernacular of my local croud of bracket and Dot 90 racers.

Here is how one of my slips reads out of something like what were talking about.

60'- 2.36 let go of the button and the car fell on its face
330- 6.89
1/8- 10.27
mph- 80.94
1000'- 12.45
mph- 122.34
1/4- 14.05
mph- 138.52

That's a 58mph gain from 1/8-1/4. It was breaking up as soon as it came up on boost before the 1/8. Then cleaned up and I ran it out.

I have one even worse then this that I posted about before. 14 something at 149 or there abouts. I'll try to find it tomorrow.
